Doom Eternal is one of my top 10 games
Good to know.Doom Eternal is one of my top 10 games
I'm talking about the mainline doom games
First post and no one followed up yet?!Still can't believe DOOM Eternal came out the same time as Animal Crossing New Horizons! o.o That was the OG Barbenheimer!
My bad then.I'm talking about the mainline doom games
I like DOOM 3, i know its different but it's still a decent game. The Dark Ages is awesome, i don't get the hate at all.My bad then.
But even Doom 3 and The Dark Ages are fine?
I personally see Doom 3 as a separate franchise. The only things it shares with Doom is the name.I like DOOM 3, i know its different but it's still a decent game. The Dark Ages is awesome, i don't get the hate at all.
Yeah the price is high but i bought it on fanatical for 58 so i didn't pay full price. I think the game feels more classic and similar to the old doom games aside from the parry system and i love that it's not eternal part 2. I love that this doom trilogy consists of 3 completely different games because AAA games are mostly the game style, big open world generic games.I personally see Doom 3 as a separate franchise. As for the Dark Ages I'm simply not fan of the parry system, that you have less air movements than 2016/Eternal and that they're overdoing with cutscenes when Doom isn't about story.
I could also argue that the price is too high.
I'll be honest, seeing how The Dark Ages is seen as inferior to 2016 and Eternal I would rather wait until it is at <= 40.00...Yeah the price is high but i bought it on fanatical for 58 so i didn't pay full price. Doom (or at least Doom I) was intended to be as much of a horror game as it was intended to be an action game.I personally see Doom 3 as a separate franchise. The only things it shares with Doom is the name.

Intended or not the ultimate product is still a fast paced game.Doom (or at least Doom I) was intended to be as much of a horror game as it was intended to be an action game.
Doom 2016 is also the actual sequel to Doom I/II/64 whereas Doom 3 was a reboot.Doom III focuses more on the horror while Nu-Doom focuses more on the action, in that sense, you can say both reimaginings of Doom have as much yet as little to do with the original vision.
Looks like there are two source ports. CatacombGL and ReflectionHLEIt's not Doom but I've tried Catacombs 3-D and while I sensed the DNA basis for Wolfenstein 3D I kinda wish to see a sourceport or any form of modernisation

Agreed. One of the best DOOM maps ever imo. Many have surpassed it in terms of sheer numbers, but back in 199X, this was for the hardest of the hardcore (outside of stuff like NUTS.WAD)I still love Go 2 it from Plutonia. It's probably the first official slaughter map.
