More Doom The Dark Ages gameplay released internet-wide today... and yep, this game looks slow, simple, and casual experience.

I've never been less excited for a Doom game in my life. I just feel no hype.

I still need to kick myself to play Eternal and its two DLCs but eh...

As for Dark Ages, I feel that the whole "third episode being a prequel" is kinda overused and that they should've made a new solo Quake game...

Basic ass answer but I think the normal shotgun from the original Doom is one of the most gratifying video game shotguns around, when you're just sprinting around one shot tapping zombiemen and imps one after another it felt really good

To tell the truth, I've only played and completed DOOM(2016) and the fact that all the weapons were a blast to play with, even just using the melee was an awesome mechanic in the game.

Shotguns, absolutely the shottys. When people say "Doom" that's what immediately comes to my mind. They always feel chunky and satisfying to use (except the one in Doom 3) and are your workhorse, reliable option you can always fall back to. And they allow you to hit demons up close, unlike the Rocket Launcher, getting you out of tight spots.

Chainsaw I like going up and personal when I rip and tear.
Plasma is fun to use.
Dubbel barrel in 2016 doom and eternal is nice when you can mod it doing awesome things.

I mean to say that it might not be a particularly interesting choice when compared to the more flashy weapons in the series, but I just love the way the regular shotgun feels to use in the classic Doom games

I've only played up to Doom 3. My faves are Shotgun, Chaingun and the BFG.

Super Shotgun for me. My go-to when I need something obliterated, and shells are much more common than energy cells too! My runner up is the Plasma rifle, especially when enemies are further away.

Doom 2 Super Shotgun, my beloved, and possibly my favorite gun in an FPS as a whole.

You may be wondering why they don't just call it a double barrel? Because it's better. Because it's SUPER.

it completely trivializes the final level to a disgusting amount, but i did really enjoy the Unmaker in DOOM 64 and powering it up in each secret level throughout the campaign. it's just a real damn shame how borderline contextual its use in Eternal was like the BFG

I am beyond happy to say, I was wrong on every level. The Dark Ages is great, complex, challenging, and incredibly fast. The marketing for the game was bad, but the game itself is delightful. Not quite as good as Eternal, but still really great. I'm loving it.

Zero interest for the Dark Ages. Having mandatory RTX graphics for yet another Doom 2016 is just the stigmata of dogshit optimization from a dying industry.
