Unfortunate for all of us, and sorely predictable. It was really too good to last.
Alright. There are sites that still have this sort of Stuff.
Mostly on Torrent Trackers
That’s great. But even if there had been no backup, it would have been much cheaper to maintain I assume, and it’s better to have something rather than have everything disappear, right?some of them could be removed. there is an app for the ps3 that acts like the psn store and most games barring a few are on there, along with dlc, updates and even themes and avatars. the rest could be removed as long as there is a back up somewhere else on the internet.
same for the wii u. the wiiu usbhelper acts like a digital store front as well. that would just leave xbox/360 games; so the costs should drop quite sharply.
/r/SaveMyrientIs there any project being created to replace, or take over the site?
It would be important to keep all those files safe and available.
kind of figured something like this would happen, which is why I wasn't really too concerned with backing up anything myself. Torrents are definitely better than using a central server. Spreads the workload across the community rather than just relying on one guy to keep the lights on./r/SaveMyrient
2/3 of myrient is supposedly saved so far. You can check the google doc to see the progress.
I think the backups are going to archive.org for now but torrents may be in the future.
That's awesome. I don't know why I was worried about losing things, it seems like we've a lot of hoarders in our midst! Hopefully another proper direct download solution will pop up for this stuff, since having to rely on torrents for things is less than ideal./r/SaveMyrient

They are actually against human rights (except for themselves, family and friends).AI Bros should have no human rights.
I agree, but my gov tried last year to block me out torrent sites. I mean, these sites are under attack for a while.kind of figured something like this would happen, which is why I wasn't really too concerned with backing up anything myself.
