Which translation patch were you most eagerly awaiting?

I hope that someday someone will do a fan translation of the PS1 versions of Shin Megami Tensei II and Shin Megami Tensei If...
Have you played the PS1 version of SMT I? I am really curious about these

Yes... please!!!

Sadly i heard that the games run on Spaghetti code, so translations seems unlikely
But that didn't stop then from translating the first one. Unless atlus changed the engine for II and If, it should be doable by that team I hope...

Yes, I've played Shin Megami Tensei I (PS1 version) and it's by far the best version of the game.
Seconded, i used to believe the GBA was the best on the sole basis of the Visionary items, however after actually playing the PSX one i realized actual UI cleaning, fairer challenge and crispier graphics makes up for items i literally could not read and had to search online

Thirded (if that's a word). I played SMT PS1 last year and liked it a lot after struggling with SFC version years and years ago. Just having the dungeons in 3D, much as they are pretty ugly, makes it easier to play. Usually I'd take nice sprite work over PS1-era 3D, but I find it hard to play a lot of sprite-based first person games. The erratic movement gives me a headache.

Chou Soujuu Mecha MG: being a mecha game from Sandlot I was absolutely stunned to know that there was a translation about it. Quirky game so full of homages, it uses the touchscreen in some of the most fantastic ways possible.

Remote Control Dandy: Being a fan of R.A.D. I couldn't skip RCD. It was even better than expected, with an atmosphere more akin to Tetsujin 28 and Giant Robo than the more modern RAD/Gigantic Drive. Really good.

Captain Rainbow: Still waiting for it, sadly. A quirky, bizarre games in the way I like it. Too bad that the translation it's still up in the air.

Pretty sure Captain Rainbow was completed years ago

Also, the extra buttons allows for being able to use the map in a single button instead of going for two maps every single time (Also you can add markers, only eight but it's something)

I was probably the most excited for the English translation of Fate/Extra CCC to drop because I had always been curious about it ever since the CCC Collab dropped in Fate/Grand Order. Plus, one of my friends is a big fan of the Extra series. I pretty much got it the moment it dropped and honestly wasn't disappointed in the game.

Less of one I knew about before and more of a welcome surprise was the English patch for Knight Gundam Monogatari for the Famicom, mostly because so much of the Knight Gundam stuff is considered obscure outside Japan that I didn't think anyone would have bothered to translate it. Imagine my shock when I found out it dropped. I do hope they translate a few of the other Famicom games in the series at some point.

As for what I would be most excited for when it comes to getting an English patch, it would probably be Super Robot Wars UX for the 3DS. I played it in Japanese last year and, as someone who had been disappointed with the more recent SRW entries and had been hearing about it and wanting to play it for YEARS, it felt magical to play it for the first time.

I hope someone does a fan translation of Custom Robo V2.

Soooo many great games have been translated, and so many more left.

The ones I'm the most excited about are

Legend of Xanadu (PCE)
Legend of Xanadu 2 (PCE)
Illusion City (MSX)

The Legend of Xanadu project seems have had a lot of work done on it, but no updates for a while, but the people who are working on it are active and awesome so I'm holding onto hope.

Grateful to anyone who works on fan translations!

I am also waiting for the SNES versions of Romancing Saga 2 and 3, i wanted to enjoy their remakes but they fell wack

Romancing Saga 3 has a fan translation. It was released a while ago.

Edit: Only for Spanish, nevermind. The English translation was never finished.

I'm interested in exploring alternative versions of well-known games that have already been released in English in some form, such as Dragon Quest IV and Legend of Heroes III/IV on the PS1, as well as the remakes of Princess Maker (I/II) and Ys (I/II/III/IV/V) released for the PS2.

I’d also love to see more attention given to fighting games and beat-'em-ups. Revisiting titles like Asuka 120% Maxima Burning Fest, Advanced V.G 2, and Panzer Bandit, with the opportunity to fully understand their plots, would be incredible.

Lastly, I think it would be fantastic if translating games from consoles like the 3DO, PC Engine CD, Sega CD, and WonderSwan became easier someday. There's no game for them that comes to mind at the moment, but I imagine the possibilities are many.

Still, I firmly believe that every new translation, no matter the game, is always worth celebrating.

Still waiting (and I'll still wait) for Yakuza Kenzan eng translation, last update on Tumblr page was back in 2022 but I wanna believe it'll be finished and released one day...
There is also Kowloon's Gate but I think it'll release next year

i second that. i really hope to see a kenzan patch.

i have the disc and played (and finished) it on real ps3 (its a very old game, so it was cheap). but i didn't understand anything and had no idea what was going on.

Hope i can someday be able to understand how to make my turtles win the races.

i know it have full gameplay on youtube, but i prefer to play myself.

View attachment 14196Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari is by far one of the most beautiful games I've seen on the Sega Saturn. It was developed by the same team as Wonder Project J. It looks very interesting and I hope someone does a fan translation of this game.

I just learned about this game through your post and wow, does it look like a beautiful experience. It looks like there was a Spanish translation that made some good progress, but no news since August 2023. :(

examples of games, i hope to see translated, someday, in the future, these games are gems.
