Which translation patch were you most eagerly awaiting?

The one game I can think of about that I was really looking forward and got super excited to see translated, as a HUGE Klonoa fan, was Klonoa Heroes for the GBA.

I haven't yet got around playing it, but am thinking of perhaps doing like a marathon and re/play all them Klonoa games back to back.

Oh yeah, also as a huge Ape Escape fan, when I saw Ape Escape: Million Monkeys pop up on this site here, I just went "Oooooooh!!", but was disappointed that only the menus and item stuff was translated currently.

Don't get me wrong, the current translation is still very much appreciated, I can imagine just how much work goes into translating and modding a game to put said translation, but as I have played and finished the game ages ago on my own, figuring stuff out by experimenting and such, I was more looking forward in seeing the story translated, so I could understand dialogues and such, eh.

I also hope perhaps, one day, the PSP spinoff that could be kinda considered Ape Escape 4, eventually gets a translation too.

During the olden days of fan translations I didn't really follow translation groups, I just checked Aeon Genesis and randomly discovered this or that SNES game had been translated.

I do remember the hype around the Tomato translation of Mother 3, which all my online friends were playing once it dropped.

More recently I was very happy to see Sakura Taisen, BokuNatsu 2, and Racing Lagoon translated, since I've been reading about those game for years and hoping I'd someday be able to play them. Same for Tokimeki Memorial and Baroque, really.

Currently I'm most looking forward to the translations of Kowloon's Gate, Sakura Taisen 2, and Hungry Ghosts.

those remasters of romancing saga 2 and 3 is not so good looking but they playing fine but i want snes games get english patch
Honestly they both look and play horrible. They run at half the proper framerate, for one. Secondly, the absolute geniuses at Art Piazza did scaling incorrectly, which results in an odd pixel shimmer any time you move and third, there are no proper filtering options. It's just a train wreck.

I'd much rather play the SNES games without the extras than the remasters with said extras and looking as ugly as... ahh I don't even know, just imagine the most unpleasant thing you can, it's that ugly.

I think the translation I'm most looking forward to is this:
Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X

Though, I'm not sure if there's a lot to wait for, as version 0.04 came out and had English text in the pictures, not sure how far it's translated but as far as I know it might be almost complete.. I wouldn't guess that from the version number, but I also haven't tried it yet.

PSP games save states take up a lot of space, and I'm still in the process of trimming down on ROMs on my phone.. 😅

Great game with a great job class system. All it needs is a good multiplayer mode.

okay But without the extra dungeon, I probably would never have finished Romancing SaGa 2

this remake will get remaster with phantasia but i want also play original gbc game

A lot of great picks on here (Despiria, Giftpia, Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari, Blood+, El Diabo...etc).

Gotta add Sakura Note: Ima ni Tsunagaru Mirai, this game hits all the right notes for me. Nobou Uematsu, Akira Ueda, Hideo Minaba making a life-sim/ARPG with a similar vibe to Contact. I think the game's too short and too niche to ever get a translation, but it'd be cool to see.

Hello to all the nerds around here.
I am mainly referring to the golden era of romhacking and the dawn of translation projects, when some legendary translation groups such as DeJap, RPGONE, j2e, RPGe and Aeon Genesis, and others more or less important (and today often forgotten), dedicated heart and soul into romhacking, especially of snes. Of course, you can also mention the most recent projects, but I am especially curious about the first translation projects, dating back to the late nineties and early 2000s. Ahhh... so many memories! What anxious expectations! It seems like only yesterday, and I'm still waiting for those damn promised translations of Albert Odyssey (snes) or Lady Stalker (snes) which will never be finished, alas.

Without digressing, here is my list of the translations that I awaited with greatest trepidation and that did not disappoint my expectations;
1) NES: Final Fantasy 3, Radia Senki, Captain Tsubasa 2, Villgust, Sweet Home, Just Breed;
2) SNES: Seiken Densetsu 3, Tales Phantasia, Star Ocean, Tactis Ogre, Mystic Ark, SRW3, Dragon Quest IV and VI;
3) MD: Monster World IV, King Colossus, Langrisser 2, Rent a Hero;
4) PCE-CD: YS IV, Xak 3, Castlevania, Yuna 1/2;
5) PSX; Policenauts, Langrisser IV, Bloody Bride, SRW Alpha-G, Tear Ring Saga;
6) NDS: Tales Innocente, Nanashi no Game 1/2, Saga 3, Conan & Kindaichi, Okaeri! Chibi Robo, Tinglee Balloon Trip,
7) PC: Fate Stay Night, Castle Fantasia 2, Utawarerumono, Men at Work 2, Saya no Uta, Remember11, Umineko.

I'll stop here for now. Now let's hear your choices and your most poignant memories about this topic.
Finally, tell me the title of a game whose translation seemed almost finished and ready for release, but which instead was abandoned or lost for some elusive reason, and you are still waiting for it in vain. 😅
And then don't say anymore that I don't post interesting threads.
Come on, don't be shy, you're all welcome. LYA. 😉
Hi, for me it would be
Shin Momotarou Densetsu (SNES)
Magical Houshin (GBA)
Exodus Guilty Neos & Nishikaze no Kyoushikyoku - The Rhapsody of Zephyr (Dreamcast)
Black Matrix, Shinsetsu Samurai Spirits - Bushidou Retsuden & Kunoichi Torimonochou (PSX)
Momotarou Densetsu Turbo (PC Engine)
because it is impossible to play those games if you don't get Japanese langiuage

For anyone interested, I've started a YT channel where I've been posting progress of the SGGG translation: https://www.youtube.com/@ExxistanceDC

No need to subscribe; I'm not looking to build a business here. I have zero time for video editing and content creation beyond just throwing up a screen capture of the progress. ::lol But if you're curious about what has been done so far, do go check it out.

Most of the textures in the game have been re-drawn into English at this point, so now the focus is turning towards the game's dialogue.
