What's a game everyone loves but you don't like it?

Is it... Is it bad that I have a vague idea on what you're talking about?

I don't think that is a particularly unique piece of dialogue. Probably the same sentiment has been repeated with different parts of the body. They all show a poor understanding of human anatomy.

I've never played Overwatch, but it qualifies for this thread because it directly influenced a lot of the changes that helped ruin TF2. :(

That's what I mean! It's always 'ur in school, and seven hot babes with caricatured personality disorders and back problems all want ur magnum dong'

I want substance. I wanna know who she is and why she wants my virtual dong!
Forewarning: the less I talk about my sexuality, the better. Let's just say that the internet isn't that big, and the kinds of erotica I like these days do have a plot and fun characters attached. One's a "quest" type story, and the other are a series of casual fun animations on top of the erotica.

So like, my demi / aro ass agrees with you here. Substance is nice. I know some people like it when both games and porn don't have plot, but I like both of mine with it, thank y'very much. ;3

I played Overwatch once before for a little while with a group of old pals, @RageBurner. And League of Legends with a childhood friend once upon a time.

They have been ex-friends for years now and I hate their guts. I know correlation doesn't always equal causation, and yet that still says a lot about MOBAs and other competitive team games.

EDIT: @Ethernoh, you may be interested in a video an RGT user put out then!

I thought about trying Overwatch at one point, but that never happened. I don't regret noping out, though. I don't have patience for online competitive stuff, because it demands more from you than a game reasonably should.
I'm glad the "hero shooter" genre is mostly dead. What a chore those games were.

I used to play League and Dota 2 a lot with the boys back in the day, we just got tired of MOBAs and moved on, specially cause the matchmaking was always bad when we actually wanted to play ranked.

Wow, so the games themselves caused (wholly or partially) a schism between you and your friends? and they say Dokapon ruins friendships.

Heck, let's add this to the equation: I am not, by any means, an MMORPG person. The amount of love I've seen for Final Fantasy 14 has been insane. I played up to level 20-something, and I have no idea how in the heck I lasted that long. Just as @Ethernoh said, I don't get subscription-based games either.

EDIT: @RageBurner, I wouldn't say they caused a schism. But it was certainly a hint in retrospect that they were terrible people. :p

Yeah i never liked subscription stuff, when i played WoW was in a private high seas server.

Although, i do like Guild Wars 2, but i don't see myself actually buying it either.

I played a lot of defense of the ancients (the actual Warcraft 3 tower defense custom maps) with friends back in 2005. Never had any interest in LOL or DOTA, never been one to grind and compete against randos on the internet for long periods of time.

I did have an unhealthy obsession with WOW, but that was because I was obsessed with Blizzard back in the early 2000s. I generally preferred to team up with my friends rather than do PVP or battlegrounds.

I have a friend that plays FF14 all the time. It's kind of amazing, in a way. I did have MMO stints in the past Ragnarok Online and SMT Imagine, mostly. Nowadays, though? nah.

Don't get me wrong. FF14 is really, really cool and all. Of all the MMOs, this was the one I actually invested a notable amount of time into. I kinda regret not going back and Fanta-ing my Mi'Qote Pugilist (didn't make it to Monk u_u) into a Hrothgar. I'm glad they didn't take the Western RPG coward route with female non-humans, but instead gave us big strong lion-women.

But... it's a lot of investment for way, way too much content these days, y'know? Even with games and hobbies I adore, I get burned out for a long while before coming back to it. Throw in a metric ton of content -- much of it worthwhile -- and having to pay monthly for it? I just cannot these days, for better or for worse.

MMOs tend to feel like a second job after a while, which is why i don't really vibe with them.

MMOs are fun right until you hit the late game grind. That's when the games get to their scummiest level of making you grind end-level dungeons over and over for a 1% chance of a legendary loot drop for your class. And since these dungeons require over 40 people to run, you'll have to make appointments with your guild to run them. It is all so not worth the headache and destruction of your social life.

Yeah you nailed it. Modern gaming as as a whole could be said to have a problem with late game grind too, even my dear Monster Hunter isn't exempt completely.
