Stuff like that existed before Souls games even became thin. Albeit, not all in the same game, but still. Also, it is mostly superficial comparisons. The devs and on those who really got deep into the game's mechanics have proof it is not a straight up Souls games. Some influences? Yes, but
Wukong clearly goes into its own direction and clearly an action game overall.

A problem I noticed since around 2022-2023 is how quickly people are to label things a Souls-like/clone/whatever without much evidence or constantly assume, because the 3rd person rotating camera angle. Which again, it is not unique to anything to what the series, nor FromSoftware did. People were either hoping games like
Onimusha: Way of the Sword or
Phantom Blade 0 to be Souls style games, either for the sake of clout or clicks. Then some threw a fit or were "disappointed" they got it wrong when both respective developers set the record straight immediately.
