PS3 My PS3 is the moodiest damn thing ever

PS3 games? Work fine. All video disc types? Work fine. PS1 games? Haven't got any to check, admittedly. But PS2 games? They used to just work all the time (I have a silver launch model), but ever since I stood the thing upright, it only works like 10% of the time, and on top of that, sometimes my controller will just wig out. Now, I know why it's doing this. A few months after I got it (it was my grandparents', and they had already had it for at least 10 years at that point), I had left it on to charge my controller when suddenly, the power randomly shut off in our apartment. It still worked afterwards and everything functioned properly, but that's when it started being moody. Any suggestions to curb the wack are welcome.

My PS3 drive has barely worked for over a decade now. If I want to play 3d dot game heroes I have to pick it up like I'm picking up a baby, then hold it at various angles until the damn game finally loads. I've replaced it and the only think it will load consistently are PSX games. In contrast, I repaired my 360's red ring issue around 2010 and outside of the drive belt being flaky it's worked the treat (when I play it, which is rarely).
