Great console, a shame that Sony abandoned it so soon.
Wow that's a steal, it's really hard to find any Vita below 100 Euros let alone an OLED one. It's good and sad at the same time i got an OLED one second hand for 40€ some years ago from a store.... good because the vita is a monster of emulation and even using it as a "portable pc" streaming thought moonlight alongside it's own catalogue of games but sad because it was that cheap meaning people hasn't given it the love it deserves yet.
I'm still not sure if they were getting rid of them thinking they would be the ones winning big or what but in the end i was the one i got the win, i still use it to this day, nothing like playing a game on pc, move to bed with moonlight and keep playing while chillin' lying down.Wow that's a steal, it's really hard to find any Vita below 100 Euros let alone an OLED one.
I'm playing a lot Nintendo on mine, that's for sure.View attachment 93454
Being able to do stuff like this still makes me laugh.
This is true. A lot of us had one, and a lot of people across the world did, but I remember that, as a kid, I had to go online to find other people with one. In my area it took until around 2015-2016 for more people to end up having one. Owning one from 2012 to 2015 was rough because I had nobody my age to talk about the system with lol.Yeah but the 3DS struggled too despite using SD Cards. I think the biggest factor was smart phones.
Just played it today. I was able to run my stuff on the Vita! The text is a little rough, but the characters and map look really good! The big issue I ran into, and I feel this with MVC2 on the Dreamcast, was that the pad was too cramped for how rapidly you’re moving it in this game. The d-pad on the Vita is much better than the original PSP one, but Marvel is such an intense fighter that it hurts to play on such a small form factor. All told though, a really solid port! About on par with, and perhaps better than the Super Street Fighter 4 port on the 3DS. Marvel 3 being a four button fighter really helps its case lolAnyone had any experience with Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 on Vita? Supposedly it runs pretty well, but idk how fun it'd be to play such an intense fighting game on a small handheld.
So far I've been using Tekken Dark Resurrection as my go-to fighting game on my Vita.
I assume the main reason for this is way less units produced and sold compared to the wii, especially the 1000-OLED model, which goes for even more ridiculous prices.I feel like I missed out on this console twice in a row now :(
I didn't buy one when it was still being sold on retail, and then many years later I almost got a second hand unit when the prices were less ridiculous but ended up putting it off indefinitely. Lo and behold: this year I decide to look up how much they're going for and it pretty much doubled in price! Beat to shit used Vitas are now more expensive than brand new Nintendo Switches here. Maybe once the hype on tiktok over these consoles slows down a bit the prices will drop? I remember something similar happened to the Wii, those were crazy expensive for a bit but now the prices are much more reasonable.
My best advice, working in this current economy, is to be super patient and keep it as a thing in that back of your head. I got mine after actively hunting for one for… months? Probably close to a year. I had a ton of store credit from titles that I traded in after realizing I wasn’t going to finish them so they were going to be wasted on me, so in that way I got lucky too.I assume the main reason for this is way less units produced and sold compared to the wii, especially the 1000-OLED model, which goes for even more ridiculous prices.
I used it when I got the vita around launch. I guess no one near me had one though because it never picked up anything.I have to ask: has anybody in human history ever used the “NEAR” app? I basically got rid of it on my Vita by locking it away in a folder I would never use, and I assume many others feel the same way. It could have been cool, but it would’ve just been a less charming StreetPass if it was successful, and is a total tumor in our reality because Vita owners are few and far between.
