VITA The PS Vita

I miss when Sony made sleek designs.

After the PS4, PS5 and PS Portal it looks a bit "cheap" and almost like a ripoff from Apple...

Design lacks personality because they need it to appeal to as many people as possible. It's an unfortunate direction for design to go, but frankly it's where most commercial design has been headed for decades.

I think that's why people like to mod their systems, give them a bit more personality again.

Wasn't there someone who stepped down since the PS3?

I unironically prefer fan made designs:

Or even the prototype design

I just managed to get to work the english patched versions of trails of the sky ( 3rd ) and Trails from zero, everything is perfect now ! gonna try them soon.

(Serious):
The PS Vita, for its time, Hell and even today was and is a great handheld device.
Emulation-wise, it was unrivaled for portable gaming during its era, whether using its own games, modded with numerous emulators, or just for digital media on the go. I still have a working Vita that I use from time to time, mainly keeping it charged for when the power goes out. I have other newer handhelds I prefer to use when I'm away from home, but the Vita just feels comfortable, like seeing an old friend, you know.

I forgot how small the four front buttons of the Vita were compared to the PSP.

They are pretty small but in a good way.
I feel they are perfect for a handheld

Maybe my thumbs are gigantic but I still need to have buttons large enough to not feel uncomfortable when I play games on a handheld. The Switch Joycon ABXY buttons are not idea either for long game sessions.

Here we go!

Legend of heroes trails in the sky 3

I never really had the chance to play on a PS Vita due to family and personal reasons but I know that this thing would have slapped. Wish it had different games aside from just VNs and gooner games, which I do enjoy but the variety definitely is missing.

I had a vita and vita tv but for like 8 months then I was forced to sell them :(

I want a vita as i got a few vita games digital I wanna play but im not paying 200-300bucke for one nor can I as im broke constantly.

Gonna say, the vita ( and psp ) are quite sturdy, and feel they are good quality. that's great

Heyo.
I was wondering if anyone would be cool and kind enough to offer some advice ::cool

So I've bought a CFW modded PS Vita with enso 3.65 installed and a SD2VITA 256GB card already setup.

However, I want to reformat my newly acquired vita to do a fresh install of the CFW and SD2VITA.

Can I safely update back to Official Firmware 3.74 AND THEN reformat the SD2VITA to remove all the plugins and data without bricking the console ?

My understanding is that updating to official firmware wipes the "permanent" enso CFW but you need to keep SD2VITA intact up until you've officially updated the OS as it hosts key files for the CFW to work ?

vita hack guides says you should delete some sai folders on the SD2VITA prior to updating back to official firmware, but surely a factory reset / reformatting the SD card after updating would just wipe this data anyway ?

The Vita is a pretty good portable, but I prefer the PSP. Most of the best games on the system are from the PSP and this handheld is lighter and more pockeatable. I have both.

Tell me about it! What an annoying gimmick! Who ever thought scribbling sigils on a screen with a plastic pen would be fun?

The hardware of the Vita is still peerless in dedicated handhelds. Even the 3DS, with its multiple versions, never matched it.

I'm surprised how big the catalog of vita games is, I always bought the "no games" argument but it really does have enough of it's own titles (alongside PS2 / 3 ports) to stand by itself.

when you read about some of the other games planned to for it, it's pretty evident it was left to die when it could've actually been a good 3DS contender with actual support.

Rumour has it that when Sony saw that the PS Vita had been hacked, it internally dropped support for the portable.
