the only NES Mario game i've ever finished was Super Mario Bros. 2. I've gotten as far as World 8-3 in Super Mario Bros.

The Yoshi franchise is in a weird situation where it's in the Mario universe yet is its own franchise.

Even though, the Yoshi games carried OST wise and gameplay wise, delivering a solid Super Mario World sequel and cool mechanics, but I never got around the wool story game for N64.

I dont think we will ever get a new yoshi game like the original one on the SNES since it seems like nintendo thought the character fits way better for a preschool audience and therefore cannot make more complicated levels and mechanics

Regarding that, The N64 wool game was imo bad but the 3DS sequel was a top notch yoshi game, actually good graphics and extremely fun gameplay. Love that game!!!!!
(Edit: I just realised that the N64 game isn't woolly world, but I still consider it a sequel)
