also, i too have been playing through command mission. i wanted to double check and follow up on a post that i made about the party member limit. i'm slowly getting to the part, but it should be chapter 6 where you get a full party for like, three floors in the mining facility. so, for like half a chapter, you have seven characters on your team.

it's not by him, but when you say "archie sonic" the first thing that comes to mind is this

It’s got this weird ”soft reboot”-y feel to me, which always feel like they neuter the setting and avoid too many characters because it might be confusing to new fans or whatever.
Then they just never make a sequel anyway and it makes the existing game feel weird and empty.

If there was a Rockman 12 what would you guys change from 11?

I’d change the music style too. It’s not outright bad but it really doesn’t sound very much like Megaman to me.

I’d also change Megaman’s voice to sound much younger and make the artstyle less ”perfect”. I don’t like how clean and thin everything looks.

Lastly I’d ditch the Viewtiful Joe double gear thing. I’m not a fan of adding core gameplay gimmicks in the way it feels, it mostly gets in the way and confuses me.

And just like fake said, I’d want Bass and Protoman to return.

I'm so glad capcom didnt do that for devil may cry 5, if you don't know who nero is look it up or play 4

It kills all momentum, what's the point of having a series if you're just gonna delete from existance all the new stuff with every sequel? I felt similarly towards 9 and 10

It's so weird how it fades into the backround, the music in rockman was always FRONT AND CENTER, hence the Rock&Roll names. It's supposed to be energetic and bombastic, the one in 11 felt more like a leisurely platofrmer

I get Saturday Morning Cartoon vibes from it, but in a bad way. They could just get Colleen Clinkenbeard or some other VA who specializes in kid voices to do it. In MM11 he sounds like a 27 year old man.

My shift from Megaman to Astro Boy is similar to my shift from Star Wars to Star Trek. The franchise grew stale and I wanted better stories.

(I know one doesn’t play Megaman games for the story, but me falling in love with Astro Boy was probably because it had the depth I always imagined Megaman had when I was a little kid)

Yeah I agree. If you’re branding a sequel to a legacy act as an actual sequel, it should feel as such.

Megaman games have always been somewhat low-budget projects, and MM11 definitely feels like it too. It feels kind of ramshackle put together without giving too much thought into much because ”it’s Megaman, we gotta make something just to show we remember him.”
It’s not a dogshit game or anything, it just could’ve been way bigger and better I think.

well, considering that mega man, the super fighting robot, came out in 1987; he's 38 years old. sounding a decade younger than he is should be taken as a good sign. means that he has been taking care of himself pretty well.

For 1-6 the famicom roms are perfectly good, except 3 which has a mod that restores all the cut content

All three have their own legacy collections on steam, ps4 and switch.
For their original hardware it would depend. Gba is fine for zero and BN. There’s the X collection on ps2 and gamecube but it has input lag I hear.

Zero's games really shine on the GBA itself because of the very lower resolution; blowing up gba games to big screens (unless its a tube tv) makes it look very blocky. Filters can make it less bad

For X, 1 is always the best place to begin. If you like what you play there, I recommend 4, 3, and give 5 a shot (it may not click with you).

1, 2, and 3 are on SNES, 3, 4, and 5 are on PS1. All games are on modern systems and computers thanks to recent collections. I’ve heard people say X8 is good! I made a thread to ask people about it and the consensus was mixed positive. And, of course, once you’re in you’re free to try any game you want and form your own hot takes about game quality!

Given that Ian quite literally was not able to actually adapt Megaman 3-10, you should be. He quite literally skipped his backstory so he can feateue him in some half baked crossover. This is why some google results you’ll see are quite cursed.
