Here's an idea; do CERTAIN game mods ruin a game experience?
Depends on what it is and what the person wants or expects. What people do with their game is their business, and I will never get my panties in a bunch on how they play or modify it.

nother example is in Devil May Cry 3, we have style the switching mod, but the game and it's levels aren't designed with that in mind, the balancing was never intended for that kind of freedom. It was always about utilizing the current style you equiped and the weapons you intentionally chose to go with and making the best out of what you have at that situation in the most stylish way imaginable.
Giving the player every option at all times defeats the purpose of deciding a load out.
I mean if the player is given the freedom to go all out, then the game should also be given the same kind of freedom too, like randomizing enemy spawns, fighting 8 different enemy types simultaniously, because why even have constraints at that point if the player has unlimited options?
Most hardcore players love the Style Switch mod on PC, and no one was complaining about Free Style mode in the Switch version of 3SE. There is no reason for me to go back and play the original way anymore. The game is still challenging on DMD, regardless of which version or mod you're playing.
Modding games to fix actual flaws and glitches isn't an issue but messing up the game balance may be an actual one.

Like, I don't blame people playing a modded version of Castlevania II because of how the game gives you false advices and how some part can be tedious on the long run. Now if Rondo of Blood had 8-directional whip it would mess up the difficulty.

I also encourage people to play Doom without Brutal Doom first (or at least without kicking because that move is overpowered imo).

Some are neutral additions like adding the spin-dash and the drop dash in Sonic 1 when the game didn't have either in mind but could improve the flow.
No one was complaining about the remove weapon bounce of opposite color enemies in DmC 2013 on the PC version, nor officially in the Definitive Edition.

High end graphics, 16 times the detail or whatever are completely pointless and only contribute to a games file size in games that arent trying to tell any kind of story or worldbuilding through object placement or level design

What am i going to do with hyper realistic face textures if the character is still going to jank harder than a cancelled ps2 game? I'd rather they put more care into animation because that is what brings things to life more than graphics ever could

It just feels like a waste when most of the objects in modern AAA are not even interactive, just sitting there to increase the eye candy
If there is any upside to this, is that even casual gamers aren't impressed much anymore, or expect more out of the cheaper games with actual art style/direction and not high end fidelity.

I haven't played DmC but what kind of gimmick is that?

Short version: Color Coded enemies. Blue Weapons can only damage and kill Blue Color Enemies. Red Weapons can only damage and kill Red Enemies. If you use the opposite color weapon or Dante's Rebellion, your weapon attacks bounce right off of them, and they don't take damage. The mod or Definitive Edition (which is based off the PC fan mod), removes this dumb mechanic. Opposite color weapons and Rebellion do damage, but won't cause hit stun like the matching colors, unless you've popped Devil Trigger. And if you're playing on Hardcore Mode for DmC: DE, the throw all enemies into air when popping Devil Trigger has been removed, and acts more the like traditional DT mechanics from the OG series. Though you get a brief window where it will stun enemies the moment you turn it on, similar to Nero's DT in DMC4.

Thanks!

Yeah this was dumb indeed.

If the other person is saying that they don't know about the topic you brought up to them, then you shouldnt be insisting for them to answer your questions about it

Greed and envy shouldnt be sins

In my personal experiences and the experiences of people I personally knew, medicine rarely helps too but this is subjective to what the medicine is actually trying to resolve.

Most anti-depresants rarely work.
(if you disclose that you are on anti-depresants you can get out of a drug test).
But medicine for BPD and Bipolar actually do something but comes with side effects.
For instance Risperdal can have the unwanted side effect of parkinsons.
But medicine doesnt involve talking; and talking to some random doctor doesnt fix your mental issues

I don't know why but I don't care about pastas being al dente, I even appreciated them when they're slightly crunchy under the tooth.

Game balance isn't real.

Adaptions don't need to be overly faithful.

I will check the first video but I dislike when for "balance" they nerf a fun weapon just to please a small part of a fanbase (like when TF2 turned the shortstop into a slow reloading handgun/shotgun) or when they fix a glitch that could be exploited in competitive (like bhop in CS)...

In fact automatic bhop should be a standard in AFPS so it would make movement great for everybody instead of having to bind jump on +mwheelup just to get a slightly better speed online.

Adaptions can be faithful without being 1:1 indeed.

I guess I will get a lot of hate

But I am not a fan of HD2D I really don't like the lighting and all games look the samey.
HD2D on paper is a magnificent way of enhancing RPGs while keeping the sprite based art style.

However I do agree that they're overdoing with the bloom which gives an odd blurry effect which I don't like to see in Octopath Traveler (I notice it less in DQ 3 / 1+2's remakes) and I wish those games allowed the camera to turn (like the PSX and DS Dragon Quest games).

Just make it like this with higher scaled textures

I would love to see an HD2D looking Pokemon game like this

With less blur and more colours

DS era Pokémon wasn't flawless (because of some mechanics) and while I am nostalgic for the Gameboy sprites I think that Gen 4&5 with 3D environments with sprites will age better than anything else made after (Gen 6&7 on the 3DS still look better than the Switch ones but the low poly 3D without upscale via emulation is more aged than this one)

The whole separate art from artist thing has always been a load of bull and is usually hijacked/said by people who are in favor of the author to begin with, or have some type of positive bias towards them and their own brand of politics and beliefs. It's used as nothing more than a defense mechanism for something people already like or enjoy. I've noticed a double standard of when it's an artist somebody doesn't like, or they say certain politics others hate, don't believe in, or dislike, then all of a sudden that separating doesn't happen now or is made null invoid. For certain terrible people I get (that I have no vision with, as certain things are unforgivable), but it still shows the hypocrisy and double standards.

Dragon Quest VII reimagined IS the definitive way to play VII by the sheer factor of the game being DeNarutofied and feeling like a smooth experience instead of a text dialogue closing sim, sorry "Not meant to be played quickly gang" But when i play Dragon Quest, i play for the cool combat and monster design, if i want a more narrative driven RPG, i coud boot a visual novel or a RPG Maker explorer game

I don't disagree with your stance yet I also don't like when you're talking about something with other fans of said thing then random people online are coming to tell that the author is a problematic person while implying that liking it is the same as condoning the person.

Liking somebody's work isn't the same as condoning them as a person. Let's make that clear and that was never the intent in my words in the first place. I'm just saying it still doesn't change the fact that you have people who will use the separate author from person as a shield when it is convenient or suits them. Then, they'll suddenly change that stance, when it's politics or an author's choices, they disagree with that isn't exactly harmful ( more helpful than harmful), or that author/artist/creator is trying to become a better person, and admit either past views, creative work(s), or actions are/were hurtful or harmful to other people or others of marginalized groups. That is where I am mainly getting at.

Don't worry I wasn't referring to you but some people online (I suspect they're most likely to be trolls than actual people wanting to appear virtuous).

I understand but let's not get too close to break rule #4 since it's a subject intrinsically linked to it.

I never said what type of politics it is or was but of something to note, and I really needed to vent this out. I've already said what I need to be said.

Though my main point being: if certain people are having problems with others trying to better themselves and not be an asshole, then those people who have problems are the problem, and need to fuck off and need to do some self reflection or verbal ass kicking. Possibly both.

I hate when people are losing their suspension of disbelief because each time something unusual happens or when a video game has some crazy experimental idea there's always someone smug about how this wouldn't make sense if it was real life while forgetting that said game is not the real world.

Being woke was actually a good thing. But the wrong people hijacked it over the years, and it now became an embarrassing meme. Speaking of hijacking, the KKK started off as a harmless club between dudes in College to hang out, than the wrong people came in, hijacked it, and we know how that turned out. Then there's that SS Nazi symbol that used to mean something completely different before they took it. Long story short, dumb bitches ruin everything for everybody.

That's nothing new in those type of evil have been a problem since the fifth and sixth generation. I ignore them, or I usually tell them to screw off if they try to get in my face about it.

It still is a good thing and a few buttholes trying to hijack in and use it as a pejorative is nothing new. Beatniks from the 50s did the same thing. Most people with actual sense or who know the actual background of it are keeping a true meaning alive. And the wikipedia article has not changed once other than adding alternative to those who hate the other in the first place or those who are being different. Though the article points out how it's not the correct term. For those that use it the wrong way.

Kishimoto is hated more for Pierrot's Adaptation mistakes than for his own.

I prefer Lost Soul Aside over Stellar Blade. SB is not a bad game, but it has the Sekiro/Lies of P style gameplay I am not into.

I think that more if not all PC exclusive games need to be homebrew ported to older consoles.
Why? For the humble purpose of game preservation.

"But wait, why not just port or update them for newer hardware and OS?"

We could do that, but hear me out.
Most older console games still work, regardless of hardware or OS upgrades by virtue of emulation, now you could argue that virtual machines exist, but it's not the same is it?
PC games have specific requirements and dependencies, having them ported to older consoles can make those requirements a non-issue by way of emulators.
Not to mention controller support out of the box.

I'd genuinely love to hear a counter point to this, not because I'm up my own ass here or anything; but I just want to hear other people's opinion if this can backfire in any way.
