Games you replayed a hundred times?

What's that game you replay again every once in a while?
I think for me it's SOTN and Metal Gear Solid.

I never adapted very well to modern MGS games, I love the simplicity of it.
SOTN is just fun to try weird things to do. It's the first game I move to every new device.
Mario and Luigi partners in time and browser inside story are the ones that i played so Many Times that i lilteray got tired of them both cant say that tho to super star saga i didn't play that for long

Contra for NES.
I don't know why but sometimes I like to just run through it in like half an hour when I'm a little bored.

Felix the Cat
Kirby Adventure
Super Mario Land 2
Dragon Ball Z Legends
Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Alpha 3, and Third Strike
KOF 96 and 98
Metal Slug 1, X, and 3
Soul Calibur

All GTA games except V which sucks
Star Ocean 1 and The Second Story
Final Fantasy VI
DBZ BT3
WWE SVR 2007 and 2011
Tokimeki Memorial

Super Metroid, pokemon diamond and Metroid prime 1

I mentioned a few games before but i did forget a few.
The entire breath of fire series i replayed multiple times, while hundreds might be pushing it, i have done so.
Sonic 1-3&Knuckles i've replayed so many times that it's impossible to count.
The amount of times i've replayed chrono trigger is unhealthy.
Same applies to xenogears.
Generally most of the metroidvania castlevania games in general fall into this category as well.
Devil may cry 1 also falls into this category.
Lunar the silver star and lunar eternal blue (sega cd) i've played more than probably most rpg's.
Secret of mana like chrono trigger, i've played far too many times.
Metal gear solid 1 and 2 also come to mind.

Lunar
Clock Tower (Was so hoping for a full-fledged remake of the first part, and out came a lazy remaster basically. But at least it's something.)::megadancebaby
Silent Hill
Gothic
Final Fantasy (I'm going through part 16 of this game right now. Then I plan to re-run the previous ones again)

The GB/GBA PKMN games, GTA III. I played many times other games, but I'm not the kind of guy who usually replays games more than one time, except for few genres.

In high school I replayed Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland almost everyday (sometimes multiple times in one day) for most of my junior year. I was trying to get really good at speedrunning the 100% category, which at the time had a record of 53 minutes. From the time I got off the bus to the time school actually started I would have about 50 minutes, so my goal was to fully 100% the game in that timeframe. Eventually I was able to pull it off pretty consistently. Never had a way to record my Gameboy SP though so it was never a time I could submit. Some 12-13 years later the record is at the 40 minute mark, truly wild stuff. All in all I have probably beaten that game 150-200+ times.

Senior year of high school I got super obsessed with Sonic Colors. It hit me at an important time in my life and reinvigorated my love for non-competitive video games. Easily 50-100 completions under my belt for that one.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 3 also spring to mind. Its one of my all time favorite franchises, but 1 and 3 were the specific games I got into speedrunning and doing career runs of whenever bored. For 20ish years they've been go-to game to zip through if I just want something fast and fun to blast through while talking to friends online.

Most of the numbered Resident Evil titles also have countless completions for me. The same typical reasons of them being fairly short and lovely games to blast through. REmake, RE3, RE4R and RE8 are the ones I've played the most since I got into speedrunning them though.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that Final Fantasy VI is easily the game I replayed the most due to doing challenge runs. I think it may be one of the few games I actually really mastered lol

Outside of fighting games, I replayed Ratchet & Clank 1, Burnout Revenge, Midnight Club 2 and Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero a lot of times, but the SSX3 and Gran Turismo 2 are the only games I always go back at least once a year

According to some consoles:

- Nintendo
Mappy Kids (just for the catchy theme in stage 2, listening for an hour).
Contra and Super Contra.

- Super Nintendo
Dragon Quest 3.
Ganbare Goemon 4 (Yae's levels are a good platformer design).
Megaman & Bass and Megaman X Trilogy (for a quick game assault).
Super Metroid.
Demon's Crest (the 4 Endings).
ActRaiser 1 (love the simulation mode).
Super Adventure Island 2 (Feels good ?)

- Nintendo 64
Bomberman Hero (this is my favorite Bomberman,
because you can jump and throw bombs, like no tomorrow, good music and fine gameplay, challenging).
Kirby 64 - The Crystal Shards (beyond completing it, always trying to get all of the 81 Info cards).
Eltale Monsters (Japanese Quest 64), because I'm always grinding to get max experience.

- Nintendo Gamecube
Megaman Network Transmission.
Paper Mario - The Thousand-Year Door.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (getting all Artifacts and weapons as possible).

- Nintendo Wii
Super Smash Brothers Brawl (D-Pad blessed times, getting almost everything).
- WiiWare
Final Fantasy 4 - The After Years (with all DLC).
Megaman 9 & 10.
Pokémon Rumble.

- GameBoy
(Makai Toushi) SaGa Trilogy.
Super Mario Land 2 - The 6 Golden Coins (for the hidden levels to discover).
Kirby's Block Ball (specially for the Stage 5 theme).

- GameBoy Color
Dragon Quest (Warrior) Monsters 1 & 2 (for library completion's sake, specially the second).
The Legend of Zelda - Oracle of Seasons and Ages (most time in Ages, and trying to get the 64 rings).

- GameBoy Advance
Castlevania Trilogy (specially Aria of Sorrow).
Final Fantasy 2 and 5 (grinding squared, for the first one).
Golden Sun - The Lost Age (with all Djinns, to Anemos Temple).
Lufia - The Ruins of Lore (for getting everything and making some databases for the monsters families and its evolutions).
Megaman Zero 4 (mostly, strategically for the parts, trying to get S Ranking every time).
Metroid - Zero Mission and Fusion (mostly Zero Mission).
The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past.

- Nintendo Dual Screen
Dragon Quest 4 and 9 (so many times, I'm addicted to this one).
Puzzle Quest - Challenge of the Warriors (both endings).
My World, My Way (to complete all encyclopedias).
Kirby - Mouse Attack and Super Star Ultra.
Spore Creatures.
Pokémon White.

- Nintendo 3DS
Fire Emblem - Awakening (250+ hours, and repeating it, after an accidental Micro SD Card formatting).
Miitopia (almost the same, as above).
The Legend of Zelda - A Link Between Worlds (for Streetpass Challenges' sake, Normal and Hero Mode. Because of the above with FE - A, played it at least four times).
Bravely Default and Second (same case as above).
Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker 3 (Original and Professional, both of them, complete bestiaries).
Dragon Quest (remakes) 7 (for the 417 monsters and monster jobs).
& 8 (almost twice, yes, this one is same case like FE - A).

- Sega Genesis/Master System.
Castlevania Bloodlines.
Contra Hard Corps.
El Viento.
Gunstar Heroes.
Monster World 4 (the one with blue haired hero, supposedly called Shion).
Shinobi 3 - Revenge of the Ninja Master (for the Izayoi Theme).

- PlayStation 1
Final Fantasy Trilogy (7, 8 & 9).
Dragon Quest 7 (again, because of some good time back in 2015).
Megaman X Trilogy (specially X6, rescuing all 128 Reploids).

- PlayStation 2
Shining Force EXA.
Castlevania - Curse of Darkness (I loved the crafting system).

- PlayStation Portable
Castlevania - Dracula X Chronicles (mostly, for unlocking and playing the Symphony of the Night Easter Egg, recommended).
Dissidia - Final Fantasy (almost endless to unlock everything or rather maxing out every character, aiming again for Lufenia's Equipment).

...I can tell more, but I'm finishing with two of them... Via phone.

Smuggler's Run 2 and God Hand. There's nothing like them.
I really have to try God Hand at some point. People keep recommending it around me.

I've put several thousand hours into dark souls since 2014. For some reason none of the other games in the series appeal to me as much as the original. Unfortunately I don't play it often anymore since it depresses me too much.

  • Final Fantasy IV. With the exception of a few niche variants (mainly mobile), I've played every official version of this game more than once.
  • Chrono Trigger. Played through it until I got enough tabs to max out all tab-related stats with every character. (Also got all the endings, which takes much less time.)
  • Various Capcom and SNK fighters for Dreamcast. I was pretty determined to get good with as many characters as possible. (Probably not as good these days, though.)

Gosh I don't think I've replayed a game 100 times ?

I guess 8 was my max ? But that was because
Devil Survivor Overclock
Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker
... both games required me to replay them so much *just* to get the multiple endings and enable certain things on the title screen

I guess that goes for Disgaea 1 and 4 too
Chrono Trigger as well for the endings ...

Killer Instinct as a kid because I was hellbent on trying to beat the game at max difficulty without any continues

Yep !
