Games you replayed a hundred times?

For me it's Shining Force II (GEN), Streets of Rage 2 (GEN), OutRun (GEN), Time Crisis (PS1), Star Fox 64, and Resident Evil (PS1).

Put so much time into these games, I feel like I still know them all the way through.

I will replay Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World, the original Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy Tactics every year or two.

I once spent an entire summer break finishing Mega Man 2 at least once a day and never grew bored of it. If you put me in front of a screen with Mega Man 2 I will probably play it until the end again.

Pokemon Red is a comfort game for me. I tend to come back to it when I feel homesick or just down in general.

I don't know how many times I've played Ace Combat 3. There's no game like it. Other than that, Gran Turismo 4.

Not retro but I've played through Dark Souls PtD maybe 20 times. It's like my comfort game that I go to when I'm between new games or just want a game I don't have to really put 100% into.

Many games are really great, but worth playing only once or twice...
Yet, there are some simple games, which you just won't be tired of replaying it again and again...!
I had many games, great or simple, which i replayed a lot in my childhood... but one is special for me and is a lesser known title of Sega MegaDrive, it is Ball Jacks!

It's a futuristic sport-like game, where two crab-like robots fight one-on-one for capturing all four balls for themselves, which causes opponent countdown timer to decrease, they should throw their claws and snatch balls from behind of opponent, and can damage the opponent body by hitting them with ball while snatching it, taking four hit cause them to explode! and should return to underground to repair, which takes many seconds.
but damaging opponent is not target, but a tactic to delay them to capture the balls!
if countdown time of one side reaches to zero, the other side will win!

There's not much story in sense of text, yet the appearance and name of each opponent in the tournament, says a lot about their background and their relationship with the player's robot! trust me, it has some golden moments! just know this much that it touched me so much that caused me to create a lengthy fanfic story about it in my mind!

I played it so much that i started to give many handicaps to opponents, such as playing with just one claw and assuming only 0.1 seconds of countdown time for myself!

This game is something which you should just play for yourself to taste it, neither images, nor words and not even videos can convey the feel of playing it yourself!

Diablo. The OG. Yeah, I know that most people prefer the sequel and don't get me wrong it's a great game (I've been playing it lately with the Median XL mod) but it just doesn't have the same dark gothic vibe the original has. Some call it slow and clunky, I call it precise and methodical.

Windows. There are ways to play it on modern PCs. The easiest legal way to play the game would probably be getting the GoG release. The best way to play it would be using the DevilutionX source port. All that port needs to work is several data files. You can take them from the GoG release or from the old isos.

Classic bioware games like KOTOR and Dragon Age origins. Always something new to be found on replays. Beat em'ups like streets of rage or Tmnt games if I want something on the shorter side. Street fighter alpha 3 max if I'm looking for a fighting game.

I always come back to the mayority of Bioware old games for example kotor, the mass effect trilogy and DA origins. Another one would the RE trilogy on PSX, The dragon quest games and Ocarina of time

Rondo of Blood
Symphony of the Night
Streets of Rage 2
Sonic 2
Ranger-X
All games I can easily go back to and beat them within a sitting without even thinking about it.

Half-Life 1, PSO, Goldeneye/Perfect Dark, Doom 1&2, Mario 64 (maybe? I remember finishing it 5/6 times) Sonic Adventure 1&2... I cannot think of other games right now.

Super Punch-Out!

We meet at the end of each year, Nick Bruiser and I. We embrace as brothers, then ply our bloody sport. Not for Pain, not for Ol' Death, but to prove that we Yet Live.

Kenseiden on the SMS and ESWAT on the SMS and Mega Drive are games I find myself replaying with something of a frequency for no particular reason. I just shut down my brain and go.

Rayforce. Criminally underrated Taito Shmup. I play that game all the time, just for the sake of it sometimes. I recently finished the game, actually, since I'm not the best at shooters. Had to do it on an emulator with infinite quarters.

One of the few examples of a shmup that is approachable for even a total beginner.
