There’s also roadkill. It’s a mix of “twisted metal and gta” so it might be a death race game where you steal car

That’s really awesome, I’m glad 😃

Hi. Before you ask, yes, I searched the entire internet for them and didn't find the names. I even watched a video containing all PS2 games, but I still couldn't find them.

So I will tell you what I remember about them.

1. It's like Ace Combat in space and it's a really fast-paced game.

2. It's like Death Race. You can get out of the car and fight other people and steal their vehicles. And I also remember there is a linear combat-focused mission.

pls help 🙏
second one kinda sounds like vigilante 8

i'm not sure if this helps at all or not, but thanks to Clippy's great lead, i found This Gist Page which contains list of all games in eXoDOS collection version 6.0 (latest version is 6.04 at time of writing this).
But it's just name and date of them and nothing more... yet, it seems to be one of most complete lists of ibm games out there, at last biggest list that i could find anywhere.
The original eXoDOS site, didn't give the list of its games, or at least I couldn't found it anywhere in their site.

And here i have sorted them by date, I hope it helps even a bit.
(Download is below in attachment)

Oh my god! I learned a new thing!
during this search it dawned to me that IBM pc is basically x86 pc and its games are DOS games!

Wow! now searching is much easier than before!

I feel so silly for not knowing this earlier! 😂

So I searched again, this time for DOS games... there's many sites which provide in-browser play of them thanks to JS port of DosBox...
I searched many sites but with little success...
classicreload.com seems to be one of more complete of them, claiming to have more than 6000 games, and every single of them is playable in browser.

So here's what i did:
Searched for "fire", "burning" and "rescue" separately... but found nothing definitive...
then inspiring from Clippy, I went into classicreload.com, sorted by date, and checked every single game from 1972 to 1985, anything which i felt might remotely connect, even those from other systems... and even played them a bit just to be sure, but again nothing which matches all mentioned criteria!

The only game which involved burning building and rescuing animals was Frantic Freddy, but it's more of a platformer than puzzle, and there's no finding animals from under table, etc...
So i don't think that's what you are looking for...

Considering it was a dos game, it is possible that it was a homebrew game, or was sold only locally...
Yet there's a hope that i missed something and/or another port of it exists in a different system.
I could come only this far, wish you best! 😄

Edit: Fixed a few typo.
Edit2: Added screenshot.
Edit3: Also forgot to say that Frantic Freddy which i mentioned, wasn't even a DOS game either, it's for ColecoVision system, yet it was the only relevant thing that i found in that site.
Thanks! It'll take a bit to go through that list O_O

One thing I'm pretty sure about is that it's not a homebrew, since it was a game my entire class played in the school computer lab (one of the local businesses did stupidly well financially and donated absurd amounts of money to the city annually, which the city used for school & city improvements...and pocketing).

Wow! playing games in school about burning alive in building along with animals? now that's the kind of education that i love! 😇
But honestly, the game sounds quite fun! if you find it, i personally will be quite happy if you would be kind and share it! :giggle:

So @Ikagura i guess none of 8 games that i listed after Ex-Zodiac, wasn't the one that you are looking for either, correct?
Look's like i should roll up my sleeves again soon... 💪
Of course as soon as i find the time... 😁

To find the animals you had to Look Under the Table, Look Behind the Curtain, etc.
By the way, @What's His Face, i noticed some interesting clue in your description!
"Look Under the Table", "Look Behind the Curtain"... how didn't i notice your special use of Upper-Case?
This sounds like a selectable command in game! like choosing a menu-item!
this sounds like an Adventure game and even possibly Interactive-Fiction kind of it!

I should have asked this sooner, but how do you find animals?
  • by clicking on table and curtain using mouse?
  • by controlling a pointer-like cursor, moving it using d-pad (either keyboard or joystick) imitating mouse usage? (Like Shadowgate in NES)
  • Only by going through a menu-like system, without any pointer-like cursor on screen?
  • by manually typing commands with keyboard? (aka Interactive-Fiction)
until now, i had assumed that there should be some kind of cursor to click on objects... so i ignored games without such mechanics, but if that's not the case, i can look into those that i skipped before... a good chance that it might be one of them. 😃

I have slowly started to look into game of another good friend too, none other than @Karnik! 😀
Honestly i was hesitant to do it because:
1) I have never played any arcade game in real-world!
2) I have never played any arcade game in emulator!

hence i'm not best person for it, and was hoping that someone with more experience in this area steps-in... but unfortunately it didn't happen...
So i'll give it a go anyway, please bear with me if my results turns out to be off...

so i'll start climbing, as soon as real-life allows me. 🧗🌋

I think we can stop, maybe my memories are flawed or I made it up in my head because I got foggy images of one train-looking boss that I had struggles to beat.

Maybe if you can find a train-themed boss fight in any old school rail shooter feel free to show me.

I used to play this game a long time ago, I think it was an n64 game but im not sure about that.

In this game you had to build a remote control car, outfit it with a weapon, and fight other remote controlled cars. it was sort of a tournament setting. Cant seem to find it.
It wasnt vigilante 8, or custom robo.
The cars were very simple, and the weapons you could put on them could be extremely simple, like a forklift kinda thing to try to topple the other car, while an enemy might have a whole as blade saw.

Hmm... They weren't N64 games but could it possibly be one of the Robot Arena titles?

Thanks, its not Robot Arena, but you did lead me to find it again. I was looking for "BattleBots: Beyond the BattleBox" for the GBA.
Weird how it totally doesnt look like how I remembered it lol, but it has to be the right game i think

You might also be thinking of Robot Wars: Advanced/Extreme Destruction (two titles for the RW franchise that dropped onto the GBA, with Crawfish Interactive working on Advanced Destruction, and Warthog Games working on Extreme Destruction)

So I'm trying to identify this game, it was late 90s or early 2000s, on PSX I remember you controlled a robot, 3d 3rd person perspective, I think you could jump and you were walking trhough a volcano (or maybe some kind of cave with magma) sounds like something niche or something that could be recognizable?

It could be Future Cop LAPD?

I used to play Energy Air Force this thing had a sequel never played that one though.
Published by 505, they were truly the purveyors of slop back in the day, now they are a bit more respectable since they published Death Stranding on PC.

It definitely was Armored Core of there's no other 3rd person robot game with shooting I might have misremembered the red flashes as a volcano level it has some tunnel geometry so that checks out

I'm looking for the title of a game. Both Google search and ChatGPT have failed to provide it. I only remember a few things because I played it in Japan when I was a kid, but I'll try to list everything I can.

Played around 1995-1998 (sorry, I forgot the exact year)
2.5D (2d enemies, "3d" BG like Alien the Gun)
Arcade rail shooter with goofy and cartoony graphics
Main protagonists are insect exterminators, like a parody of ghost busters with big heads and insecticide spray cans connected to their backpack as their gun
Enemies are mosquitoes, cockroaches, and other bugs. They all have big eyes.
The arcade machine's gun is metallic and shaped like a can of insecticide. The trigger is at the top. It needs to be shaken to reload.

That's all that I can remember.
