Your favorite games that no one praises

skullmonkeys gets even less recognition i feel, though having returned to play it recently it is balls hard even with save states lul

Holy crap, that shot of Klaymen opening his bean-filled mouth is gross ::sickening

I never did play Skullmonkeys, even though I love the first game. From what I've heard, it's wildly different from its predecessor and I wonder if that's what turned fans of the original away from this one.

Alright blurb aside, now I'll actually answer

Valis as a whole doesn't get much rep, unfortunate result of Telenet not being super big really anywhere. It's almost a miracle they cared enough to make a modern day collection. Despite the fact that this image is the PCE version, the Genesis version of Valis 3 is far better. Better sounding music and better levels

Haven't played it, but I want to. It looks really sick and it's surprising no one talks about it. Well no one talks about Bomberman in general I guess

Stellavanity is far too fire a game to just be forgotten

Mega Man Rock Force is in that really weird position in that it's a game everyone acknowledges is good but also...you won't hear many talking about it, especially nowadays

A badass duology of Castlevania inspired Touhou games that never get mentioned. Quite frankly, I think $60 total to get both on Steam is quite ridiculous for decade old freeware games that didn't even get changed at all but that's just me.

This game gets written off so often as "oh it's just downgraded Mega Man 4" and it annoys me cause it changes a lot of the level designs, stage select, adds a shop, adds a new enemy character (Ballade), and created a new final boss that MOGS the final bosses of all 6 NES Mega Man games. WTF is the American boxart though? There is no world where Napalm Man has a flamethrower.

Why? Why did no one pick up these games 😭

Why? Why did no one play this game 💔

This is the most interesting licensed game I've ever played, really fun even on emulator keyboard controls

why elaborate

Everyone should play Popful Mail

Frankly I have too many examples to list, I should get to bed instead of listing all of them

Okay, I need to hear this hot take
Really? The XIII trilogy is my favorite in the FF main line series. I think the world building is great, I think the characters are well-written(as well as their relationships), and I thought the battle system was a neat experiment.

I think a lot of people just jump on the bandwagon of hate because it's the 'cool' thing, but it definitely doesn't deserve nearly half the hate it gets. Not everyone has to like everything, and that's fine, but I'm tired of being told I'm 'wrong' when I say it's objectively a good series. Most people say that and haven't even beaten the first game. I've played all three multiple times.

Idk if I wanna get more in depth with it. Most people just say 'you're wrong' and that's it.

"Objectively good" is definitely a hard sell. I don't doubt that there's a lot of FF fans who jumped on a bandwagon or hated XIII simply because it was different. For me, the XIII series was one of the first FF games I ever touched (the other being Revenant Wings on the DS) and even I hate those games. There's still characters and things I like about it XIII but I can't honestly agree that it's a good game.

I'm in a similar boat with Revenant Wings though. I like the game, the characters, the story and the setting but I've been told the game is "Trash Tactics", e.g. an inferior clone of Final Fantasy Tactics. And I really don't care. Even if the game is truly bad I enjoyed it and would still recommend it. I guess my point is that even if a game you like gets dunked on, as long as it brings you joy, what other people think about it doesn't matter.

Why did I pick PlayStation all stars of all games in that OP post
I like the game but I should been more creative with my choice

Carmageddon 2.
Senran Kagura Estival Versus.
Carmageddon 2 is an absolute classic praised by most gamers i guess.

Watch_Dogs. It received some praise when it released back in 2014, but was somewhat overlooked as it released the same year as: Titanfall, Dark Souls 2, Far Cry 4, and Destiny. Then the sequels were released with... mixed reception, which soured the public image of the namesake. Watch_Dogs had a great story, solid mechanics, fun gameplay, and I really liked it.
Same here.I always thought it was a great story, cool mechanics, smooth controls and lot of things to do.While far from perfect when looking back at all the fancy Trailers with awesome graphics, hacking features...it still is a great game i loved to play.Replayed it recently on PS3.Still holds up.
