Malkavian (Insane):I do enjoy romance mixed with the macabre. This is a song my friend Zerp made that I really like. Sadly I'm not quite as elegant with words as you two.
Whose screams would it be I wonder?it’s the sound of screams echoing through empty halls, isn’t it?
Interesting. I thought vampires lacked reflections, or maybe I was misled. My sense of humor can be a little weird at times. I have a vague memory from childhood of finding the death animations funny in Goldeneye 007 while using a melee weapon of some kind.*looks at a nearby mirror* I see you, darling, trying to be sweet, but we both know you prefer the taste of chaos.
If what you write continues to intrigue me like this, I look forward to it. Even words on a page sometimes evade my full understanding, but sometimes the mind is more interested in what it can't have, even if it gets one into trouble. I wouldn't mind hearing the secrets of shadows as I've always felt oddly at ease when the moon is out. Wrote a whole article about it actually, though that might have been a bit wholesome for your taste.[]*giggles* But yes, you’re right... words are like butter in a microwave, they melt away before you truly grasp them.[/]Maybe I’ll write you a song, one that whispers secrets to the shadows. Or perhaps I the flowers have already… *smirks uncontrollably*

I thought the same thing. It kinda looks sad and lonely, but that's about it.
Malkavian(Insane):
yes
I recently found out it's called Christina's World, and the girl in the painting was actually a real person who had a physical condition preventing her from walking. So I guess that was her world, that limited scope. That's sad.It kinda looks sad and lonely, but that's about it.
I can identify with both of those thingsI recently found out it's called Christina's World, and the girl in the painting was actually a real person who had a physical condition preventing her from walking. So I guess that was her world, that limited scope. That's sad.
But I've also heard an interpretation that It's about the fear of being known, hence why she's looking away, and it's inevitable she'll arrive at this location or condition of being known, represented by the house. Idk, you could just call it all BS, but that interpretation has stuck with me for some time, and still unsettles me.
Sounds like you aren't picky. :PMost likely whoever is screaming, I would assume.
I can see that now that I'm looking in the mirror as well, but why were you looking before I was standing here? Or were you gazing at something else? They do, but those behind a vampire would surely cast a reflection in the mirror. The vampire being between the said individual and the mirror wouldn't hinder their reflection
Shadows are inherently secretive, yet I've never caught them in a lie. You just have to ask and hope the answer doesn't claim you as the next person screaming down the hallway.*Eye twitch* Shadows whisper to me... sometimes they scream, sometimes they giggle.
I wonder, do you think shadows have secrets or are they just hiding from themselves?
What's your win condition if you don't have a reflection?*The lamp flickers*
Oh, the moon, yes, she knows all my secrets...like how I like to play hide and seek with my own reflection.
Shadows are there to tempt the adventurous, calm the reserved, and drive away the wary. For what purpose, I do not know, but being a night owl gives me an appreciation for their peace.[]*Softly and almost mockingly whispers* "Wrote a whole article about it, but it got lost in the dark"
...perhaps it was too bright for shadows to handle.[/]
*Laughs softly* Tell me, do you think shadows dream of electric sheep, or do they just wish to be seen?
A sense of longing for something one can't have. Is it a property she's too poor to own? Maybe the person she wanted lives there with their significant other, leaving her to wonder what could have been. Maybe that's her childhood home and she wants her childlike sense of peace and wonder back.Does this painting have any effect on anyone else?
this connects to what you just said in my head:Malkavian(Insane):
*Eye twitch*
Oh, Christina, sweet little fish with a broken fin.
She’s dreaming of a house that’s really a giant mouth... waiting to swallow her whole, maybe?
Or perhaps she’s already been devoured, just swimming in a sea of jellybeans and broken mirrors.
*talks to the flower pot* You see that? That’s no flower, that’s a tiny screaming face, wants to come out and play, but it’s just a puppet in my carnival of chaos.
*snickers softly* The house? It’s not a house, it’s a cage made of whispers and broken teeth.
Sometimes I wonder if she’s waiting for the universe to swallow her whole, or for the clown in the mirror to wink back.
The cracks in the earth aren’t cracks.. they’re scars from when the world was a mad god’s toy.
*eyes flicker* Oh, look, there’s a face in the dirt. Hello, tiny face... do you want to dance or stay buried? Either way, chaos is more fun down here. *laughs*

Unfortunately reminds me of the recent horror game Ratshaker. Regardless the vibes aren't happy ones lol.
Imagine if, upon looking at Christina's World but for a mere moment, from then on, you can hear the shaken rats cries. Barely audible to begin with, but growing louder in intensity with every waking moment.Unfortunately reminds me of the recent horror game Ratshaker. Regardless the vibes aren't happy ones lol.
