You know Costumes for existing characters would be neat, like Warioware Wario, Chef Mario from Odissey, Yarn Yoshi, Superstar Saga Luigi. Instead of making them their own freaking character

Objectively right opinion, the Mario franchise needs to crossover its characters more instead of relying on the same staple ones.

Maybe it'll sound controversial but this is the best MK game for many reasons.

Personally I want all Mario "___" games to become Smash Bros like in roster (no third parties though).
They kind of did this in Mario Kart 8 and I loved it. I think it should be really leaned into. Imagining all the awesome courses and music.

Same for Mario Sports stuff, I don't give a fuck about Shy Guy playing Tennis let me be Link doing a spin slash with a tennis racket as a power shot, or playing Team Star Fox on the Soccer Field that's on a floating asteroid with a bubble dome floating in the Lylat System.

Yes, I thought it was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at first but I noticed that Mario was in a new kart as well as the race track not being in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, (see the second screenshot below) as Mario Kart 9 was shown at 1:41 in this reveal trailer:

On a more serious note, i'd be surprised if some pokemon don't make it in at this point, depends on if they are going the smash route, heck even sonic might make it if that happens.

Mario Kart games have traditionally only included Mario specific characters.
