What's a game everyone loves but you don't like it?

The Witcher Series, they never clicked on me, and honestly like The Last of Us it makes me sleep more than anything.

Earthbound, I just hate It. Most people are just blinded by the nostalgia, and of course parrot those feelings. Within two to three hours It's just been the oppisite of fun, because who doesn't love grinding and feeling lost on what to do to progress?

What kind of sicko has enemies that steal Items as the first encounters when you have no access to a store yet?

the men are beautiful
the women are beautiful
the music is beautiful
the art is beautiful
the struggles against the self are beautiful

IKR?
It was a complete flop, and now EVERYONE claims their undying love LMAO.

FF7's the victim of many translation errors, but this isn't one of them. It's actually 'addiction' in Crisis Core that's the mistranslation. 中毒 is the word, and it can mean both addiction and poisoning. Overdose would also make sense. Even without going to confirmation from outside sources, we can know it's not addiction because... addiction is never what's portrayed in the game. Cloud is never fiending for mako or showing a desire to get mako into his body. At his worst, he's almost insensate.

The matter gets more muddled when Dirge of Cerberus introduces the DG soldiers or whatever who actually are distinctly addicted to mako, lol. So mako seems to definitely be a thing you can get addicted to, but Cloud only ever regards it passively.

Have read more about FF7 than any human should but have never heard this claim about his name before.

neways I PLAYED witcher 3 recently. I played with a mod that made a noble effort to make the gameplay better. And it worked for a little bit...
I think... the open world really did the game's story a disservice. There are some nice setpieces and some interesting bits of scenario writing, but it is just bogged down in so, so much pointless crap. So much that they couldn't even conclude all the threads that were set up in the previous games.
Well I'd figured he'd been oversaturated, especially in the lifestream and have to dry out for a bit.

Good to see Final Fantasy being a reoccurring mention.

well it's a pretty iconic series.

Perhaps Dynamite Headdy...I was never comfortable with the character control which I also disliked a bit, however the graphical style of this game is unique. The really high difficulty of the European version did the rest....

I only just learned the other day that game had an actual story... in Japan!

I tried very hard, but I just can't vibe with Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI
I did finish all Final Fantasy games up to FF12 + 15 (except for 11, obviously), but I can't stand FF6. I rather play FF2 (the one with Firion and Oblivion-like level up that everyone seems to hate)

i do also hold the opinion that ffix is the weakest of the main final fantasy games on the original playstation, but given the quality of those games, that is really not a damning thing

Yes I wanna make that clear on my end too haha. All three of the PS1 games have seen multiple playthroughs from me and were thoroughly enjoyed each time!

I couldn't get into dark souls despite my absolute love for Bloodborne
Well contrary to popular opinion and content creators, Bloodborne is almost a different game. The loop is just not as slow as DS. After I played BB I could never finish DS3, played elden ring and thats a bit better.

Liked SF up to Hyper Fighting at the time. Like everyone else at the time, was waiting for 3. Hearing through all the gaming mags at the time "Capcom is working on a new SF project..." Then here comes the news: "Hey everyone, look its now SUPER SFII!" Oh fuck you then, and went into SNK offerings harder. Didn't care for 4 new characters, and didn't care to try Super till the around the time of the SNES release. New announcer sucked, sounded like Big Bird. No bass in the remixed music.
Then, here comes this fucking thing. With its cheap AI. "Get good" Ah, shut up. "Look how original! Secret character if you go through the whole thing without losing a round!" Bah! SNK did it first with Fatal Fury Special.

Come to find out years later, Capcom made the US release significantly harder than the Japanese release.
If it wouldn't have been for the AI, Big Bird announcer, music lacking bass I'd have played it.

oh i didnt get far in that yet but i fucking LOVE the aesthetic for sekiro
Sekiro is another one, despite what content creators say, it is NOT a souls like. It's the spiritual successor of Tenchu.

RPGs. The Legend of Zelda series is as close to a RPG as I can get. I love Symphony of the Night, which has some RPG elements, but I can't stand all the cut scenes and the draggy nature of RPG games.

I had a very poor experience with Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Played the 3DS version. I just… didn’t care for it. I got about as far as the Forest Temple (the first adult Link temple) before admitting to myself that I hadn’t had fun the entire game and was trying too hard to enjoy myself.

I played it perhaps a bit too late in my life. I was 14, so part of the magic that other people felt was probably not as much there.
I remember watching my brother play it since I was a literal toddler and have probably played OOT atleast 6 times throghout my life + multilple romhacks of it, it's kinda crazy to think that maybe if I'd had played it for the first time at 14 and not 5 I wouldn't like it now just like you

For me, Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, both games that in theory have everything I love in videogames but just never clicked for me, I'll probably give them a new try eventually.
