What's a game everyone loves but you don't like it?

Katamari Damacy.
Yes guys, ready the pitchforks please.

I also hate Street Fighter games despite liking any other fighting games. Weirdly enough I actually like Capcom vs. games.

Persona 5, and while I do love its ost, artstyle and story, its pacing is so slow and gameplay barely evolves, and it just drags on to the point of overstaying its welcome. The only game I can compare it to is Chrono Trigger but that didn't drag on for eternity, which was way more tolerable

Legend of Zelda as a series has never felt right for me. I´ve tried Ocarina of Time, I´ve played Twilight Princess... but they just don´t hit.

Undertale was kinda the same. The music absolutely slaps... but that´s about it. I enjoyed the Genocide run the most ::linkmouthcover

Never tried it after having such a bad experience with 2016
You need to, it's WAY better and the movement is awesome, 2016 is garbo in comparison.

Persona(the modern style) got old pretty fast after 4. I mean not everything has to be high school, the first 2 had adults on the party, specially the 2 duology (my favorite).

Super Mario World.
Maybe it's just because I never grew up with it, but I just do not find it enjoyable after the first handful of levels or so, no matter how many times I try.

Also, I just don't like 99% of online gaming experiences outside of brief stints in MMOs or online co-op games.

crash bandicoot, it can be pretty to look at at times and i appreciate it for setting up a new school of design for 3d platformers, but i found myself just getting really bored actually playing it, especially the 2d parts (didn't finish it but did beat ripper roo)

I'm not trolling, I promise.. But I'd say Mario 64.
It's not a bad game, its actually good it's just not meant for me

Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Look, i grew up with this game. I love the roster, I love Lucas, Sonic, R.O.B., Dedede, Wolf and Diddy Kong. I love the Music selection, best one in the series. Audi famam illius is a superior song to Lifelight in every.single.way.

But it SUCKS. Tripping is an absolutely moronic mechanic, and the worst part is that it doesn't even punish the most overpowered character in the game, have fun accidentally tripping when you dash as you get destroyed by Meta Knight's ABSURD air game.

Dogwater balancing even for Smash standards, Chaingrabbing via characters such as Icies and Dedede, ledgehogging, and other assorted tomfoolery.

Brawl tried to be as anti-melee as possible yet it ended up beign as janky and broken, without any of the charm. Im not even a hardocre competitive tournament guy, i have never entered a tournament, but in its attemps to beign ultra casual Brawl fumbles the bag to the opposite direction from Melee (and unlike Melee, this time its not accidental)

I HATE Brawl's artstyle, and still do. I don't mind the more realistic detail like in Mario's overalls, but i do absolutely despise this washed out color scheme. Did Mario left his clothes in the sun for days? Why does everyone look so dull? Outside of the TP Cast and Solid Snake, NONE of the characters look good due to their color scheme and lightning alone, and why do you think adding TOON LINK to a game with this artstyle was a good idea?! Seriously.

And most of the stages are a chore. For every Pirate Ship and Green Hill Zone we get a Hannenbow and Rumble Falls. Stages filled with hazards that only hamper the experience, and since this was before Omega Mode, Battlefield mode or Hazard toggles, this means if you wanna experience the music in this game while playing it, you WILL have to endure some of this garbo.

and Subspace Emisary is the most overrated thing in Smash's history. Look, i love the idea of an adventure mode, i LOVED Melee's adventure mode but this is just lame. I hate story modes in FIGHTING games because im forced to play as characters i DON'T wanna play for the sake of "the story". No SSE, i do not wanna play as Marth or Lucario or the Ice Climbers, why do i gotta wait until the very END to play as Sonic? Why can't i just play as Wolf for the entire campaign? For the cutscenes? The sames ones that Sakurai and his team were salty that were shared online? yeah right. The only worthy thing to come out of this is the Boss Battles (i will give credit to Brawl for having an ACTUAL Boss Rush mode instead of locking it behind a DLC character in Ultimate)

To make things ever lamer, the levels are mostly made up locations. The Jungle BARELY counts as a DKC level, same goes for the Glacial Peak for Ice Climber, while everything else is a creatively bankrupt level like.......the Canyon......or the Swamp......or the Wilds. Riveting stuff guys. Oh and outside of Goombas and Koopa don't expect to see iconic enemies like Waddle Dees or Motorbugs or Kremlings, but instead OC bollocks that Sakurai pulled out of nowhere. Outside of the Afromentioned Bosses, none of these made up enemies are appealing.

If i wanna play SSE, i just play Smash Run on the 3DS, a less bloated experience that allows me to play whichever character i actually like.

If i wanna play Brawl, i play a HEAVILY modded version of it. It's the Skyrim of Nintendo games.

Also fuck you for removing Mewtwo.

I hate those Sexual Assault simulators.
Plus tank controls are a thing of nightmares.

Since im on a childhood bashing roll i also wanna say that out all the Zelda games i have beaten, Majora's Mask is easily my least favorite to PLAY.

Story? Great.
Setting and Graphics? An upgrade from OOT
Music? Solid
Gameplay?......................yeah im out. Outside of the Mask transformations i am NOT a fan of this game.

I never played any silent hill games in my childhood. I played SH2 and SH3 recently and I loved these games. I also played SH1, I can see your point. This game was very important in the survival horror genre, however It's plagued with ps-jank. It's still a good game.

star wars knight of the old republic
the storie and puzzle are good
the fights are annoying
blaster almost do no damage unless you have right skills or a very strong blaster

dark side of the force have better skills than the light side of the force
if you want your character to be strong jedi you are forced to either be neutral so you can use the dark side and the light side
or you just have to be on the dark side

Maybe I should try again now that I am older and have worked over my childhood trauma.
The first times I tried the game in my early teens I was overwhelmed by the nightmare-freeze (thank you tank controls) unable to run properly, and the stalking of naked slimy monsters.

I did download The Room recently, because I enjoyed watching a friend play it, I was so intrigued by the psychological horror, really deep stuff. I mean I love The Last Of Us, it is as stressing for me, but I feel like I can move around fast while I think on how to approach the monsters.

But I dunno... I think Dino Crisis was the only one I liked in that genre... because I loved Dinosaurs, and they felt less rapey. I can't blame animals for trying to eat me, it does not feel Demonic.

LOL What's with all the SA? There's none on any of those games. You mean as in difficulty?

I feel it is a metaphorical thing. Like in Silent Hill 2, the Daddy Room with all the Penis Pistons penetrating infinitely those holes in the walls.
I thought it was obvious that most horror in the game are allegories of different types of abuse and trauma included Sexual Assault.
A bunch of slimey naked monsters trying to catch you and hurt you.. to consume your flesh (in the case of Resident Evil...) I also feel Resident Evil is like that, the sense of helplessness, the impossibility of moving freely, and the imminent touch of horrid creatures that want to put their mouths on your body.

Ewwwww...
I did enjoy Resident Evil better when I played it at a friend's home, because the new controls made me feel more... in control... and able to move easier and approach the danger with more agency.

Tank controls are half the matter of Sexual Assault Nightmares... being unable to escape from a monster...

I enjoyed Silent Hill 2,3, and 4 and I tried out the first one recently as I'd never played it. It was rough for me. Like the other games didn't have the best controls, but the first game felt like it was on another level with it's tank controls. Maybe I'll play it again, but those controls really irritated me last time I played.

In that specific game yeah, Angela suffered from that, but that's just SH2, this isn't a theme on 1 or 3. What a bout Resident Evil? And by no means a room design is a SA sim. That's a LONG stretch LOL.

No, you a right.
I call them SA simulators because slimey monsters want to hug you, bite you, lick you, and consume you in both games, and you can barely run away from them, like in PTSD nightmares.
The metaphors I mention only add to the mystic of the horror of assault.

I am surprised tho, you don't see the sexual abuse elements in all the deform bodies in SH with their BDSM mutilations and devices, they look like Sexual Serial Killer victims, all of them.
Also do not forget the restrooms in the schools, and the janitor, SA is prevalent as a theme of abuse, among other forms of abuse (such as religious torture and cults).

Resident Evil feels much less sexual, if at all, but my experience with the game was the same, it felt like my PTSD nightmares. LOL

Persona 4, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Witcher 3, Skyrim, Metroid Fusion, Final Fantasy XIV and every 3D Zelda game. For a start.

Persona 4 because it suffers the most from "preaching a message and then showing a completely different one." I also dislike P5 for that reason, but P4's characters just never captivated me, either. I tried to like it, but I just don't see any charm.

SMT4 is because...it just doesn't seem that good? As a Persona game - which it clearly wants to be - it fails pretty hard on account of P4 being a social sim first and JRPG second. SMT lacks the social sim aspect. As an SMT game...I mean, SMT 1 just does everything better? 1 has the alignment reps naturally fall into their alignments while still feeling like your friends, whereas 4...doesn't. They feel like neutral-aligned coworkers who suddenly take a shift in ideals sharper than your cousin at thanksgiving. The wider writing is also bad, seeming to have ideas but no execution. I will argue some demons people dislike are great (Michael and Gabriel in particular have top tier designs), but overall it's just really not good.

Witcher 3 and Skyrim are just that I don't like WRPGs. I really tried to like them, and ended up not being able to do so.

Metroid Fusion is that I dislike needing to bomb/shoot at every nondescript wall and floor, because it's required so many times. It was enough to convince me that I dislike the genre in its entirety, until I was convinced to play some game about a half-undead twink killing his dad in his castle that has an upside down castle above it for some reason.

FF14 is just...ARR is hours of hyping up this super duper mega ultra impossible to beat bad guy you will never be able to beat in a million years that's so easy I use them as a break to refill my water. Then it tells you that the next guy is a super duper mega ultra impossible to beat bad guy that you will never be able to beat in a million years that is, you guessed it, so easy that I can use them as a break to refill my water. I beat Garuda, saw what happened next, and just quit. I heard it gets better after that, but I really could not care the tiniest bit about getting past the exact same plot point that I did what, three times already?

3D Zelda is just...I dunno, I just don't like them. The ones I forced myself to beat took years, and in the case of BotW, windbombing. I do love the 2D Zeldas, though. Aside from Link Between worlds.
