What would you declare as "The Worst Game" on any given platform?

Hard Drivin on Commodore 64 is very high on the list. It's a port of a 1989 3D arcade racer on hardware from 1982 running off of a floppy disk, with visuals taken from (I think?) the ZX Spectrum port. Not that arcade Hard Drivin looks great by today's standards, but it at least had... colors and kind of a framerate? I mean, what is this...?

The Quiet Man is the one bad game I remember the most as a genuine waste of time.

Sure, the story is not memorable in the slightest (I would be incapable to tell you what it is about) and the "deaf protagonist" gimmick isn't interesting, but that's not my problem with it, I didn't really mind that.

What really soured me on this game is how boring the gameplay is. It's a really bad Arkham-style brawler where you feel like you're punching foam, going through linear corridors to punch the same view enemies with no bite to them, until the end of the fortunately short game.
Well, I had a bit of fun fighting the final boss, but it was because of everything bad about the gameplay added to a big spongy bastard made it look even more ridiculous than usual. So I was entertained for the first minute, then back to bored.

I think it would have benefited from being an FMV game instead. Maybe focusing on the story and the whole "deaf protagonist" stuff, they could have made it good.
The combat is so not-even-half-baked-downright-raw that I feel even a bad and very short FMV game would have had a better reception.

Maybe Super Alfred Chicken? I don't remember why I had it, a relative maybe, but I'd fire it up occasionally - my optimistic brain thinking I just "didn't get it" - and then just immediately hit the floor and remember this is pure ass.

Oh, wait no...Space Ace on the SNES, it's *fucking* unplayable. The absolute worst.

Just an amazing game, with all the joy of a tetanus shot. The Don Bluth cinematic and Dragon Lair connection make you think you're showing up for a killer party, until the game starts; turns out the orgy wrapped up an hour ago and they just need someone to mop.

What do you got going on with your profile? That looks cool as hell man.

It's some new visual stuff Spike is cooking up, it's just us mods testing it out right now but you'll hear more soon.

(The picture I'm using is a cover to DIE by Kieron Gillen though, a phenomenal fantasy comic. Can't recommend it more highly. The artwork in particular is an amazing piece by Stephanie Hans, who also does the interiors of the book.)

Sick nasty. I dig it.

I'm modding a PS3 for one of my homies. Maybe I need to get him to play this one night. Preferrably with a couple beers in the system lol. I remember playing this when it came out and even as a kid I thought the story was bad lol.

I liked the first hour of this game (the entire bathroom scene is goated), but afterwards, it just diarrhea's itself.
It's such a downer too, because that first hour is *amazing*. I must have reset and tried it again four times just to see how I could mess with the investigation.

I will never forget this tho:

Man I miss the Super Best Friends. I still watch Matt and Woolie's stuff. I miss how Let's Plays used to be. The raw recordings back then were so much more cozy and enjoyable then they are now with the constant flashy subtitles and loud yelling in your face. ProtonJon and DashieXP were always my favorites.

Heavy Rain is one of the GOATs of bad games. Definitely deserves a drunken playthrough.

What was the worst game you ever played for any amount of time and what made it so bad?

I wanna hear all about the shovelware that you all might have touched that makes us appreciate the good games all that more
Definitely The Evil Within. Bad and basic scares of haunted house, awful gameplay, basic story that pretended to be deep and interesting. Everything about that game is bad.

Alright, this one is crazy. Can't believe you right now. Joking of course lol.

The last time I ever played a game and thought, 'Wow, this is terrible.' was playing Fallout 76 on launch day.

I still regret buying that with my own money because that released when I was in high school and didn't have anything for income.

The worst game I've ever played was Pro Golfer Soru for Wii.

1739259551947.png

It released in Japan and was quickly put together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the magazine that the manga released in. It was like someone heard about Wii Sports: Golf but had no idea how a golf game would work on the console.

You get six playable characters. Two of them are just the same girl. There are also two unlockable characters. They are both variations on two existing characters and, again, one of them is just the girl. The game has an arcade mode where you battle against an NPC. The game is slow as possible and there is only about four golf courses. However, the arcade mode is for about nine holes so you repeat characters and courses.

I don't even remember finishing the arcade mode because it took too long and the game play was boring. Most of the knowledge I have of the game I got from watching this video. Also, fun fact, the game scored 12 out of 40 in Famitsu. Famitsu is incredibly generous in their scores. A game is considered crap if it scores 25 let alone 12. This is one of the lowest scored video games in the magazine's history.

I don't even remember why I played it. I think I heard of its infamy years ago and decided to emulate it. Don't bother. If you need to see anime characters playing golf, just use Mii Creator to make Goku or Naruto and have them fight in Wii Sports: Golf.

Nope, it wasn't a joke. I have been playing horror games almost all my life and that's the worst game.

I only played the demo on 360 but it was an experience.

Is basically what happens if Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid made the Fusion dance but they made it wrong and the result is a stealth game that punishes you a lot for little errors, the Vampires basically kills you in one hit when they discover you.

The PS3 version of this was a bit better. They fixed up a few issues and it looked a bit better. I had it there as a kid.
