Now, your humble Archivist has seen his fair share of foul games...literal dog droppings encased in a cartridge, and shoveled off to ruin some poor kid's weekend...but I also know that the term "Worst Game" can be, putting it politely, subjective.

From Bloated multicarts like Action 52 (which I actually own a physical Genesis copy of), to repetitive, absurdist trash like Dash Galaxy in the Alien Asylum. Everyone has their own take on what games are at the bottom of the totem pole per console, and I'd LOVE to know what yours are!

I'll start us off with a few of my own personal takes:
  • 2600 - E.T. - The Extra Terrestrial (I get it, it was a crunch job of the worst magnitude, but it also brought the console gaming market to its knees for almost 2 years)
  • NES - Action 52 (Absolute hogslop. It has no right to exist, but alas, it does.)
  • Game Boy - The King James & NIV Bible (DO I REALLY NEED TO EXPLAIN MYSELF, HERE?)
  • Super Nintendo - Captain Novolin (It's a cheap shot, I know, but at day's end, a Spade's a Spade.)
  • Nintendo 64 - Say it with me, folks: Superman (It's like hogslop...but somehow, it managed to catch fire in the middle of a tire dump)
  • Virtual Boy
I could go on, I really could, but I'd be rambling for days. What are YOUR bottom-lister games for the consoles of yesteryear?

Bubsy 3D for the PS1. The PS1 may have a lot of shovelware like Iznogoud and whatnot, but nothing ever comes close to Bubsy for me. Not only is extremely ugly, annoying, poorly designed and has terrible controls, but the camera also manages to make me physically ill. It's a torture device!!

Honestly, Bubsy 3D was a step into uncharted territory, as most people weren't working on 3D platformers at the time. It went awry in a terrible way, don't get me wrong...but also, without Bubsy 3D, we wouldn't have gotten Syphon Filter.

Don't mean it didn't suck.
Post automatically merged:

Street Fighter 1 led to Street Fighter 2, and I would still rather (insert AVGN reference here) then play that turd.

I'm not saying that it didn't. I'm simply saying that it walked so other games could run. It was most definitely a game that needed a LOT more time in the oven...but also, at day's end, it's Bubsy. It's not Gex or Crash Bandicoot. That franchise isn't exactly known for Quality and Polish.

Oooooh! I remembered a "good" one: Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout on the PSX.

It takes talent to make the PS1 look and feel like garbage. It feels like the game is running underwater and it's just unresponsive.

From my experience, a lot of the Anime-based fighters were kinda...well, not that great.
DBGT:FB, Gundam Battle Assault 1 & 2...that one InuYasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale...

NES: Not sure if Takeshi's challenge count since it was deliberate from the author, so i say Hoshi no Hiro Ito
SNES: The trashiest i played insofar has to be Brutal: Paws of Fury, as a kid i loved Foxy's... moveset, but now my gaming palates are refined it's obsolete
N64: Megaman 64, i played it merely because i loved Legends 2, regretted it nowadays that i know about the infinitely better PSX version
Gamecube: Worms 3D A.K.A how to not make the 3D jump in a tactical Strategy game
Wii: Any game that shoehorns Motion controls in a game that works better with regular buttons, i undestand in Twilight Princess, heck, that make it better than the GCN version, ¿but jumping by swinging the Wiimote? that killed deBlob for me

Cramming a PSX game into a cartridge Is a Herculean feat, and I think there is a lot more unplayable trash on the N64 then Megaman 64.
Takeshi's Challenge would count, but it's actually kinda epic for a shit post.
On Gamecube, I can't think of anything that was terrible honestly. Maybe things that weren't as good as they were on other consoles.....
Wii: That should have it's own thread.
