What would you declare as "The Worst Game" on any given platform?

Worst for me was playing Ragnarok Online, the official Brazilian servers to be exact.
Most toxic filled, pay to win, time consuming, exploratory experience i ever had with gaming. Millions of bots, elitist players that spend all their minimum wage on the game to try their best to humiliate other players, plenty of narcissists and toxic trolls, weird drama, if you aren't going to spend money, be prepared to grind, all day, with absurd lag, with people grifting all the time, to in the end still be lower of the class because you didn't spend money.
I don't know why i played this for years either, don't ask me

I hate it so much. No music, boring aesthetic and a obviously blatant ripoff from the tv series. One of the first cartridges i've ever had, and i had absolutely no clue of what to do.
There is a Mission Impossible game for NES if you want something that's actually related to the show. This isn't that game, the name isn't even the same. It's originally a Commodore 64 game that is unrelated and I would agree that the SMS port isn't a good one, but worst game ever?

There's plenty of bad games, but Bubsy 3D is the only one that manages to make me sick after just a few minutes! Truly a torture device!!

I heard a bad game with constant low ratings is called "life" people complain about difficulty and a lot of its mechanics are RNG based worst yet you can't save man.....
that one has a lot of cool side content tho, including whole games inside it and hidden mechanics!!

Clock Tower 3. I had just finished up Haunting Ground—which I ended up liking way more than I thought I would—and I wanted to compare the two because CT3 has something of a reputation for being batshit insane.

If you must experience that game, watch someone else play it. The stalker/killer A.I. is godawful. They have an infant's sense of object permanence: your character can get into a hiding spot a few feet in front of them and they just sit there wondering how that school girl suddenly disappeared. Then the stalker teleports away because this game doesn't give a rat's tuckus about verisimilitude.

Also, your character goes from being a useless damsel to a literal magical girl with arrows of light for poorly explained plot reasons.

Also also, some of the unlockable costumes for your 14-year-old heroine are...questionable.

Aw I love that game!

So, I've played objectively shittier games than this, but this game gets my vote. For one, it's licensed slop. Two, it's based off the Michael Bay trash movies with their stupid modern designs. Finally, it was just... bland. I could say as bland as white bread, but I've had some absolutely delicious white bread that you don't even need to put anything on. The blandness is legit shocking. It's just so nothing. I didn't detect even the slightest hint of a soul in it. Ultimately, I tend to find bland games worse than bad games. Same with other forms of media. Something bad at least makes me feel emotions while playing it. Negative ones, sure, but it's something! I rented it and played it for maybe two hours before returning it and getting something else. I don't have much more to say. This kind of game is true suffering for me.
Oh i played this one. It feels like being in a church as a kid. Seriously, it's so boring and bland it gave me stomach pain. I never played a good licensed game on PS2

Unbearably boring, GREY, it somehow makes destroying a city as a giant robot dull

It mustve been put together in a week or something because iirc travellers tales made it, a usually great studio

I played it too. the later ones were a bit better but not by much. Actually thinking about it I also played the DS versions. They were actually neat little games on there. They had Autobots and Decepticons locked behind what version you bought kinda like pokemon versions, but you could make your own character and stuff. Cool little games.

I can't account for the PC or even the Dreamcast version of this game, but the PSX one is godawful. Still marks me as one of the worst findings I made during the time I was blindly playing random emulated games. I even had the misfortune of accidentaly buying it at a garage sale, where the seller put a disk of this game inside the box for the game Deathtrap Dungeon (my fault for buying without verifying lol).

I'd say the worst thing about it is that it has neat ideas, mainly creating a whole squad of soldiers with different stats, and equipment, then you play as those individually, but it ultimately doesn't matter when you get with 2 shots no matter how much health each soldier has. It looks terrible, even for the time when compared to games like Medal of Honor 1 and 2 ; 007 The world is not Enough ; or Quake 2.

Controls are the worst to me, you aim with the D-pad and move with the face buttons, even when played with the Dualshock (because yes, it supports analog controls but the left analog still aims and the right one does nothing).

I wouln't say it's on the same level as games mentioned here, that are legendarily bad but whenever I think of the worst game I played, Hidden and Dangerous always comes to mind.

Isle of the Dead is pretty bad. Very clunky and that soundtrack will drive you insane.

I did play that game a lot out of morbid curiosity, knowing its reputation and WOW is it terrible. The level design is so obnoxious and maze-like. I do remember though that I down right felt uneasy at a certain point when you come to visit an African village with weird stereotypical jokes. Maybe it's just 90s humor idk. What's sure is that is a dreadful game indeed

Same, I don't even know how I even enjoyed it back then
I guess we just didn't know any better. Worst thing is, I had the original Medal of Honor and my PS2 at that same time so I could just played the better game but NOPE. I wanted Resistance on my little GBA X)

I've played plenty of terrible games, but this is the first one that comes to mind. Half the characters are gone and it's so insanely slow. I only played it for hours as a kid because I only had 6 games for my GameBoy.

This was also quite terrible. Horrible platforming and nearly impossible to dodge items in your way constantly.

The classic, it's an unfinished piece of garbage (even i can and have programmed a better racing game).

My favorite gameplay mechanic is that when you reverse the game doesn't cap your acceleration meaning that you just keep getting faster and faster until you stop pressing the reverse button and your truck just immediately stops on it's place...

David Cage is getting a lot of shit and that's warranted, but c'mon, shit on this mess too. No, I haven't played the game so it does feel a little disingenuous to mention it and yes it was the SBFP LP that I watched. I really doubt playing it would change my opinion. Yes, David Bowie is in it and now that he's gone people are going to like anything he was in more than they should in some cases. David Cage did not hit the ground running and really hasn't ever been a serious part of the race. x) 1999 was such an amazing year for games too! Bowie should have been in something better. Um Jammer Lammy came out in 1999, he should have been in that! Bowie and Chop Chop Master Onion!

Besides all the mmo and gacha slop I consumed during hs, I'd say it's Drakengard. I normally don't play any janky games like this, but drakengard's story was pretty interesting so I tried to tank the gameplay. And gave up halfway through. Watching the 'movie' version on youtube is the way to go for this one imo.

Also Caim is one hell of a mc.

I have a hard time to tell since if a game annoys me I just stop playing it.

But the game that disappointed me the most recently was Stitchy in Tooki Trouble on the eshop.

Hmm, I'm having a hard time thinking of something.
I've played plents of janky games over the years, but I usually end up enjoying those as well, be it for the ambitious ideas they failed to live up to or the accidental charm that can result out of badly thought-out design...
I can't remember the last time I played something that flat-out qualified as true and utter trash.

As for games that I personally hated playing, Resident Evil 6 with its patronizing love of taking away control of the camera all the goddamn time and Kingdom Hearts 3 and its soulless, corporate feel (re-Mind excluded) would be my picks.

Those games do absolutely look like big-time money though. I'm not going to begrudge anyone for liking them. (Or call them actual bad games, for that matter)

-_- Now this be tough. I've actually played several of the most notorious games of all time...worst game hands down is light tag. It's exactly what you expect. somebody made and sold a colored flashlight game, with zero collision detection, and no scoring counter. And only game that is OK to use a trackball is Missile Command.
