What were your previous usernames?

All my usernames are based off Space. So if you see anything based on space then thats me!

Is this going to be your next nickname twin?

I had only my current username here. It was going to start with capital letter, but i wrote it all with small letters out of a hurry and then left it this way.::sailor-embarrassed

Yup, no plans to change my username here, though I go by Sol Invictus on other platforms. Chose this one in honor of the master of the snapshot photo, Daido Moriyama. He will always be my idea of the embodiment of cool.

Sol Invictus is a fire name, I'd love to hear more about Daido and your personal experiences with him if you've got the time.

For sure! I only know him through his work, but what always struck me about him was his kind of detachment to life, and even to his own photography. He rarely stages scenes or imposes a vision on his subjects, preferring to just kind of wander around and take what he finds. Most of his photos might be things that would be banal to anyone else, but his camera recontextualizes them in ways that turns the detritus of life into art, and life into something approaching myth. I particularly love how he plays with mannequins, turning them from shop equipment into things that almost feel human.

He’s been compared to an itinerant poet, although he’s always preferred the image of a stray dog—the subject of one of his earliest and most intense photos. And that’s always resonated for me, the idea of going through life, seeing connection but not often finding it.

That was a bit of a ramble, hope I didn’t derail the thread too hard!

That's amazing, it invokes a sense of latent 'neutrality' about the hidden side of our world because we close it away with things like attachment, personal sense of bias.

I had a friend a few years ago that opened my senses more to the idea of connection which is often times not mentioned or kept under-wraps. That tiny, invisible thread which links us all is how I think of it.

I had that kind of emblematic prose to photography with the outings I did to my local park (as small and insignificant as that may seem) when snapping these photos, I wanted to deconstruct the context surrounding things like water ravines, its inhabitants and architecture alongside tree formations which I only took a picture of in certain conditions or angles.

Your ramble's inspired me to check him out in my free time, thanky for the explanation!

Honestly, much as photography is thought of as dramatic landscapes in far-away vistas these days (particularly when used to farm clicks on social media), it’s been at its most powerful for me as a way to find those hidden connections, unseen angles, and things that reveal meaning to you in daily life. I was walking around downtown on a snowy morning, and saw buildings being torn down in the shadow of skyscrapers, themselves starting to disappear into fog. I didn’t know why I snapped that photo in the moment, but over time I’ve come to understand what it means as an image, and as a reflection of my own thoughts about life.

I do think you’d appreciate Daido’s work and philosophy, and I hope you give him a look! There’s a fascinating documentary about him that I watch every year in October

Mine went somehing like king-fisher until i changed it to what it is now because it just suited me more as a goth into shmup games diediedanmakudoll sounded fitting like a halloween themed shmup so i went with it.

I always have been using this username
So in Roblox I used to use MMSRPG111
Like user name I took it for a flash RPG game which is a crossover between megaman Mario and Sonic
Also I used usernames like hellrider_666 (I had a black metal maniac fan age, it was a little bit cringe)
And something like ROMPE_QCAS 3000_xd (pussybraker3000_xd)

Khameleon.

It will probably make a return someday lol

Mine's always been Sheepy765 here. Originally it was going to be just Sheepy but someone else already took that username.

I've gone by many names. A personal favourite was XxSasukeUchihaIVxX. It was my gamertag but it got hacked so never saw it again. A beautiful name lost.

I had other gems such as XxOathofOblivionXIIIxX and XxSephirothVIIIxX. You can almost see the evolution to my current name.

In this forum i was called Danteh not too long ago i needed to change it because it was a rushed name when i created this account i keeped it for one year

On RGT i mean. I guess CDRomance/Nicoblog too?
It's like the forth time that i said this but mines were Cleffaible and Swadloon.
I was Nocturne Knight/Martin Nocturne, I kinda flip-flopped between these because I mainly used Kolo/Kolomlynsky on social media (i.e. Twitter and Instagram) and wanted a fresh start, then I kinda gave that up and went back to being Kolo.

My first ever gamertag/username was Mc Man Cz, I was a fat kid in middle school, so I wanted to name myself McDonald's man for some reason, but that was too long, so I shortened it to Mc Man Cz.

At age 15 I realized how dumb that username was and switched to Kolo.

mine used to be N0VEMBUR (all caps, replaced O with zero, and replaced the e next to r with u), because, and you won't believe this.. i was born in november, I'm so original, i know
i don't plan on changing my current one any time soon, mostly because this was one is original and isn't taken on most sites.

Never made an account or anything for the site 'till recently (I say that but I think it was a year or 2 ago that I made it and kinda forgot about it), so it's Just "Alkider". I don't think there's much of a point to changing the username at this point so it's just gonna stick XD
