I forgot how literal nerds are:rolleyes:

Also, you guys missed the part where I said "damn near"
You misused the word and are surprised that people pointed out you misused the word. Plagiarism is not get out of jail card to describe something for using previous ideas or a similar concept, it’s full on theft.

Plus “damn near” implies mostly by default so I don’t know what the point of that tidbit was. Saying something is mostly plagiarism doesn’t change anything about the conversation.

idk i want sonic adventure 3 tbh
Sonic Adventure 3 was released without using that name, it was Sonic 2006, it is very similar to Adventure 1, I think the name was changed at the last minute so as not to tarnish the name of Adventure.

I doubt it was ever called Sonic Adventure 3 given that its aim was always to reboot the franchise. It was also a bit of a trend back then for reboots to just reuse the name of the first game like Metal Slug (3D) or Devil May Cry (featuring Donte from the Donte Will Smile games)

And even if it's not meant to be Adventure 3 it's still basically Adventure 1 and 2 mixed together but in HD.

I've always seen Heroes as such simply because of its emphasis on the number 3 (with the teams).

The big issue is that Sonic 2006 is supposedly a reboot yet still took the events of Sonic Adventure 1, 2, Heroes and Shadow into account so it's confusing.

Metal Slug 3D is technically part of the main series timeline but it's not like it should matter.

It's not like all of the Sonic fan games are just copies of the old games.

There have been at least a few Sonic fan games that had him moving arond a 3D environment, and honestly they had a really food understandign of how controlling a really fast character should work in a 3D space, right down to the level design and layout.

I can't even remeber the names anymore, but I remember playing one or two of those fan games and thinking that Sega should just hire the fucker to teach Sonic Team how to make Sonic work in 3D.

I'd say that SRB2 is quite original by itself.

Technically Sega got it right with the Speed levels in SA1&2 and the Boost levels in Unleashed, Colours and Generations (and probably the Cyberspace levels in Frontiers), it's just that they have bad execution or stuff that makes the experience worse.

They can't even make good mainline games and you are asking for spin offs?
Caca with diarrhea, with fries and a large soda, please

Sonic X Shadow Generations is a good mainline game though (yes, even if it's a remaster the second half is still original).

Frontiers was divisive but people agreed it was better than Forces and Lost World and the Cyberspace levels were considered as good..

Hey! I played that game 15 years ago!
No this version, it came out much more recently

The Shadow part is original.

And CrossWorlds is seen as being good by many.

Going with your incredible logic, then Bioware should be creating amazing games since their ME remaster was great. And I'll ignore Anthem and Veilguard.

You didn't get what I meant: Shadow Generations is the original stuff in the game and it was considered to be good. It's not a mere Generations remaster. Frontiers also had a good score.

Sure, Forces and Lost World were disappointing but these aren't recent anymore.

My point is that taking an old game and adding new content doesn't automatically make them capable of making a good game, hence my Bioware comparison. Forces and Frontiers were horrendous.

Frontiers being horrendous is subjective though.

On the other hand Sonic X Shadow gen has proven they can make do stuff because the Shadow Gen game is basically a different game inserted to a remaster.

It's like Bowser's Fury in Mario 3D World Switch, it's almost as if it's its own game.

Furthermore Crossworld also disproves your point.

I like to consider myself a Sega fanboy.

I've finished Segagaga on my modded Dreamcast, I've owned every Sega console in the US, I even had a SG-1000 from Japan (it stopped working years ago). I love all things Sega except... I REALLY,REALLY dislike Sonic and all his derpy friends. Sorry Naka-san

To be honest at this point I'm convinced that I'm a Sonic fan because he was super prevailant in the UK in the 90s so there were all the shows, books and games coming out at the same sort of time.

I was conditioned to enjoy spiny blue mammals from a young age and Service Games ™️ are to blame ::badpc

We had all that crap here in the US also, it just reinforced the fact that Sonic blows

I'm aware you guys had a decent amount of media for him and all, but he was voted the most popular video game character in the UK until like 2006/8

Mario was nowhere near as popular here as he was in the US so blue boy got a lot more attention with the weaker competition.

See if we had your guns we could shoot Jamie Oliver.

Also only middle class and up british people like Jamie. Most people acknowledge his recipes but think he's a total twat.

There's literally an interactive video on YouTube where you can beat the shit out of him. Its class.
