I love this Sonic Forces level. It's the kind of spectacle filled roller coaster ride that I expect from a modern Sonic game and ironically Sonic's not even in it.

Sonic Forces is just spectacle and no gameplay.
I'd like to see you play through this level that well on your first try and then tell me that is has no gameplay.

This is actually pretty good:
Too bad Sega is trying their hardest not to put iconic Sega characters in it.

One of the few good levels in the game.

Sonic Forces is just spectacle and no gameplay.
And yet ironically I find it more enticing visually and gameplay wise than Frontiers with the empty open world filled with puzzles and the cyberspace levels that are recycled Generations assets with a gameplay having nerfed boost that cannot even let you hit enemies with.

I think it's still in development. It really sucks when there's so few updates.
Is it really? I last looked in on the project like 10 years ago, and it struggling along even back then

Is that the hardest level in Forces?
No, I remember other ones being harder, but I remember taking some hits the first time I played that level. Plus, I was disoriented and confused a few times due to the nature of the stage with so much weird stuff happening. To do a clean run like the one in the video with no hits, getting all the red stars, and getting an S rank requires some practice and knowledge of the stage.

I'm not saying it's super hard, not by a long shot. I'm just saying that it isn't fair to say that the game has no gameplay.

It certainly lacks gameplay compared to previous Sonic games though.

I remember feeling like Forces was a bit nothing-y TBH.

I got it free on PSN and played through the main storyline in what felt like a couple of hours. It just really didn't leave that strong of an impression, is the most I can say about it.

Sonic 06 may be a bad game, but at least it leaves a strong impression, just not a good one.

I had fun with Forces...and it's better than Frontiers (don't hate me Frontiers fans:)

I don't hate you, but I do disagree with you. ::winkfelix

I'd still say that it's weird to see people trying their best to claim "it's a misunderstood masterpiece".

The infamous kissing scene and the fact you're forced to play as Amy with her sluggish gameplay makes it de facto worse than Forces (as bland as it was).

I find both games to be bland for different reasons: one because it plays too safe (like NSMB 2 and U yet those are still pretty decent platformers on their own) and the other is too experimental without having any quality insurances (which means it's mostly tech demo-y).

Even Unleashed with the night level was saved by good boost levels and Colours had the excuse of being on the Wii and still had good levels.

I consider that Generations is the one modern game to keep consistent quality.

I won't deny the superiority of Generations, particularly the newer version that came out recently with the new Shadow game. Forces is not without its flaws, but I wouldn't exactly call it bland. Frontiers was bland to me. It was a generic, by the numbers, open world game with a drab look and serious tone that didn't fit Sonic at all

At the end of the day, Sonic 3 & Knuckles will always be the undisputed king of Sonic games. Even S&K on its own was brilliant and Sonic 3 added on just made it better.

You should check out Sonic Forces Overclocked:
I didn't know about that, looks interesting. There's a lot of cool fan based Sonic stuff out there that Sonic fans sometimes forget about.

hey did you hear Robotnik is gonna be DLC in the new Shinobi game as one of the boss fights?

Eh, I don't like that Sega is shoehorning Sonic in non Sonic games because they fear that those games aren't popular enough for younger Sega fans.

As a kid, I would have killed for a SEGA crossover game where you could have all these different SEGA characters interacting with each other, but I've got to be 100% honest, I barely have any interest in the new Shinobi at all, let alone playing against Robotnik in the game for poorly explained reasons ::eggmanlaugh

why do you need an explanation for DLC? It's DLC! It's optional! Let people have fun dammit!
