I do quite like Sonic Boom, especially the slower ending version, along with the more chill and mysterious special stage theme in the US soundtrack. But I can still remember JP a lot more overall.

Though most of my favourite tracks are from the Past versions of stages, so technically both versions are applicable there.

Hello! I really like Sonic Rush because it introduced Blaze the Cat. She has a unique design, a strong personality, and her gameplay feels fresh compared to other Sonic characters.

I also enjoyed Sonic Advance 2 on the GBA, especially because of Cream the Rabbit. She’s cute, has a fun playstyle, and using Cheese the Chao in battles makes her really special.

Edit: The first 3D Sonic game I ever played was Sonic Heroes on the PS2. It’s a fond childhood memory for me, especially playing with Sonic’s team and Amy Rose’s team.

I won’t mention Frontiers since it’s the one Sonic game I haven’t bought yet, even though, to be honest, the art direction didn’t really grab me at first glance. As a longtime Sega fan, especially of Sonic, for me the series has always been about the classic formula. That’s why I loved Sonic Mania , to me, that’s what a true Sonic game is supposed to be.

So I voted classic.

Since this is a Sonic-related topic, allow me to say as a fan of the blue hedgehog that it’s truly unfortunate Sega decided to cancel this game. Of course, we all know the development was messy and complicated right from the start, but it’s still a shame , in the end, we’ll never get the chance to play it.

There's betas, recreations, even ones you can play on Saturn.

Oh sweet this has been pinned already. Was about to do the honors but the bro’est of bros Rage beat me to it. Any case, cool to see a sonic Megathread at last. Surprised it took this long. I’m not huge on classic compared to Adventure and Modern so I seldom checked that particular thread.
Anyhoots, I should play lost world. It’s the only modern sonic I haven’t knocked out of the park! Worth playing for novelty or completion purposes. Seems aight!

When you talk about recreation, are you referring to fan games based on the beta? That could be interesting, even though I don’t know any. As for the beta itself, it’s more like an early prototype than an alpha , it wasn’t very developed, at least from the leak I saw back then. Maybe I missed something and there are more complete betas available that let you play properly. We’ll see.

There's fan games for the PC and ones for the Saturn. The guy who worked on the Saturn recreation called Z-treme ended up using the engine to make an original first person shooter called Hellslave.

i just want a proper omnibus of the Archie Comics tbh. too bad well never get one
we got a few bigger volumes in black and white but you had to order those. The smaller volumes are more common and pretty much covered a good chunk of the comics. SatAM is separate and doesn't have the same things holding it back, but there's been less development with it. On a positive, it means writers can flex more with them and go in other directions than the comics. It also means Penders can't really claim any of them. >:D

JP ost flows much better than the US version's. It's a shame. They made their own Present, Good Future and Bad Future tracks but skipped Past entirely, reusing the JP tracks. Gives me musical whiplash when traveling to the past in every stage.
