I honestly would try the pc recompilation, i've seen it run nicely even on potatoes like yours, also, have you tried looking at scrapyards? you can find PC's there that come from offices closing down, often with 4th or even 8th gen intel core i3's i5's and often some i7's, i even managed to find a GTX 470 that worked just fine in there, i mean, i don't want to sound pretentious, but more often than not people throw away perfectly functional PC's better than yours and you can get a nice upgrade for free, or just paying the pc at weight, which surely will cost less than a new or used PC on a marketplace or retail store.
Then again, idk how shit works in Venezuela, but maybe it's an option worth giving it a look.

I would recommend to give it some time. We’re in the release phase, and I’m sure updates by the team will come out to make the game even more scaleable.

Patience is often rewarded in this hobby. In the meantime, if you HAVE a PS3 and PS3 copy of the game… that’s been the one I’ve been playing. No shame in playing that version! And if anybody tells you that YOU have a problem for just wanting to play the game, that’s a them problem.

Unleashed PS3 is perfectly fine and playable. The PC port is a million times better. Unleashed is a fun but divisive game. Play the PS3 version first, to see if you even like the game, and if you do THEN pursue the PC port.

I haven't played the PS3 version on real hardware but I'll assume it lags like the original X360.
I have! It's terrible, worse than 360 in most areas, yet bizarrely better in during the jungle tunnel in Adabat.
360 version is at a locked 30 and dips below at parts, ps3 version is unlocked and causes issues.
The Xbox one still has issues running at times and the Series X has stutters while loading sometimes, though at least it's consistant.

I’m curious how 360 games run on a rig that struggles to emulate the 360. I had no issues running gta iv and Deadpool, I really hope Musou Orochi Z gets a recomp.

The only requirement my PC actually meets is that it has a 64 bit OS

So yes, play the PS3 version.

EVERY PC has a 64 bit OS, so that’s not much of a flex.

Give it some time for them to make it be able to be scaled down further. Keep an eye on the project, as I’m sure you will, and give it some time.

buddy, just play the ps3 version. it will work. you're dragging this out. even the most state of the art pc would have trouble running ps3 minecraft, let alone a sonic game.

Don’t be mean.

But yes. PS3 version is plenty good enough! It’s not the best way to play, but being able to play at all is more than worth it.

Again, take this from me. It’s the way I’ve played for YEARS. It’s plenty enjoyable!

Also, look out for that final section of Dark Gaia when you’re playing as base form Sonic. That part made me want to die.

i'm not being mean, but he keeps bringing up that his computer can't handle the game. i'm certain my computer can't either. it stutters sometimes while playing n64 games and gcn games. he has a physical ps3. he can play that version while waiting for the pc port, and when it's been smoothed out and fixed, it'll probably have mods for it, so he can do all sorts of crazy stuff with it.

Agreed. Time is a benefit! Sonic Forces, for example, has a ton of mods out for it now! But I remember back in 2018 or 2019 that its mod scene barely existed. Time has been much kinder to that game than I had expected back then, so yeah!

The PlayStation 3 is factually more powerful than the Xbox 360, why?

Too hard to code on it because of the CELL?

Basicly every multi-plat was worse on PS3 because of CELL, even Sonic 06, and that was the year after.

I've been replaying it on my ps3, the sonic sections are great! But man the werehog makes me want to end it. They’re such slogs after the first couple of encounters. The music still haunts me, I can hear it in my sleep.

I'm glad Xbox 360 games can now be re-compiled to the PC, but of course the internet would choose a Sonic game as the first one to be ported. Just remember that Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and Sonic Unleashed were by far the worst Sonic games ever.

With that being said, I still say play the game for yourself.

So basically the best games on the console was its exclusives?
I'd argue enchanted arms was superior on the ps3, it's graphically slightly inferior but the extra stuff makes up for it.

I was one of the few people who genuinely loved and enjoyed Sonic Unleashed, but only the PS3/360 version. The Wii one had some awful mandatory mini games after each level that ruined the game for me on that system.

Sonic Unleashed both the werehog and Sonic levels were a lot of fun for me, personally, but where the game truly shines is its art style.

Sonic Team ever since that one Sonic anime in the late 90's and the Dreamcast days has been completely lost on what to do with their own art style. They kept throwing Sonic and friends in anime style worlds and the clash of artstyles just never worked.
Sonic Unleashed is the first Sonic game or well Sonic anything past the 90's cartoons that uses a cartoony artstyle for the human characters that fit the Mobians/animals perfectly and this artstyle would go unused in future games.

Both artistically and as a game, Sonic Unleashed was a lot of fun. It had its issues but it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.

Despite being a big sonic fan, I've not got around to even attempting Unleashed. It came out during a time when I was basically avoiding all 3D Sonic games because I had completely lost faith in the style.

Ended up getting back into it for Generations and then back out of it again because of Forces.
Now that I have a better relationship with the 3D games again (thank you Frontiers/Shadow Generations!) do you guys think it's worth revisiting with the PC recompile?

Same, after Heroes I kinda dropped the series until Generations (well, I did enjoy Sonic Rush but handheld entries barely count).

I had a Wii so I could've played Colours or Unwiished but I was less into Sonic and Sega back then.

PS: I eventually got tempted to finally redo other games on emulator like Colours back on Dolphin and Unleashed PS2 on PCSX2 (as well as the other Rush games).
