I never even denied it had negative reviews, no one did. What we did say is that it wasn't heavily panned which is just objectively true of both SHf and SH2R. By almost any metric imaginable it has more positive reception than negative. Again, you're just swinging at strawmen that don't exist because all you are capable of doing is attacking a strawman. Like you straight up came in here saying all negative reviews are correct and people toooootally hated the game more than they liked it and your proof was... Metacritic user reviews that still show more positivity than negativity. Why waste time sharing screenshots of metacritic's user aggregate that shows more positive than negative when it isn't even a super reliable source of general sentiment regardless?

Fwiw I haven't even played SHf, I have no opinion on it yet. I hate remake culture so while I borrowed SH2R from a friend I left largely unimpressed by its existence. It was fine, the new scenes with Angela were nice and fights like Eddie were improved a bit but for the most part I didn't really like it. My favorite SH is SH4 and I'd rate the original Team Silent games with 4 > 1 > 3 > 2 with 3 and 2 being interchangeable. All 4 of them are fantastic imo tho. Point is I don't care if you like SHf, I don't care if anyone likes SHf. I don't care if you like SH4 or if you hate SH4. I care about your honesty when discussing things and I care that you're being a dick to people disagreeing with you on things you are easily proven to be lying about.

You just have a narrative and want to do whatever it takes to justify that narrative. Instead of just accepting that subjectivity exists you share screenshots of reviews from sites that clearly show there are more positive sentiments than negative. Why share screengrabs of Steam reviews when you can go to Steam and see that 82% of people who reviewed it recommended it?

Is it some conspiracy where you think that the bad reviews are the only honest ones and everyone else is a blind fanboy? If that's the case you're just operating in an actual cultlike state of mind and that is deeply unhealthy. Its more likely that people just like something you don't like. People praise the fuck out of the God of War series and I've never really liked any of them all that much. I wouldn't try to invalidate anyone over it though, I just accept that subjectivity exists because I am a human being with the capacity for empathy.

Nevermind the fact that I question the sanity of anyone silly enough to invest time into a franchise they already don't like. Like ok, you don't like classic SH or the weird western era of SH so why would you care enough about modern SH to have an opinion on it? You're either dumb enough to spend time playing something you know you won't like or you haven't played it and just wanna complain for some reason I couldn't possibly fathom. "The sales figures can't be trusted and you can't trust 82% of people leaving reviews on Steam but you CAN trust these metacritic user reviews but only the negative ones," is such a batshit insane thing to anyone who is even remotely honest with themselves that it is impossible to take you in good faith when you try to assert it over and over again whilst getting angrier and angrier for no reason.

You're just wasting your time and forcing yourself to spread negativity. I'd recommend just not being miserable over video games but you seem to have made it your mission so I can't really stop you. I only have so much time on Earth so I'd rather spend it talking about stuff I enjoy or being a rational and fair person discussing stuff I don't like. If you wanna say you don't care then fine, but you're legit just typing factually incorrect stuff that is disproven by the very screenshots you provide and then call everyone an asshole for pointing it out.

That sounds about right. There are people who will just go out of their way to downvote popular games and the review will just say "I don't think this game deserves this high of a score". It isn't a serious outlet for gauging any kind of consensus. It doesn't require you to prove ownership or playtime and anyone can make an account.

If you think I have a narrative you're incorrect. I'm posting shit I read, saw, and heard. If you attacked me because you think I have a narrative than say it directly so the "issues" don't get further confused and I can correct your misunderstanding! This passive aggressive line of BS just because I dared to show and discuss a game's issues that I have first hand knowledge about is absurd! And, now you're telling me you're not too invested in the series, either. Why all the goddamn bullshit? Completely uncalled for.

You can call thousands of negative reviews, comments on google, and youtube videos not getting panned if you want, but that's exactly what it read and looked like to me. Universal acclaim doesn't equate to that much negative buzz, it equates to none. And, it's far more organic than some review bombing or random people mouthing off about some political talking points as I saw virtually none of that mentioned anywhere. Almost all of it was about the game's writing, combat, and the need to finish it three goddamn times to see the real ending with almost no variation in each playthrough.

YOU said "heavily panned" and then when people pointed out stuff like "82% positive reviews isn't heavily panned" you freaked out and started slinging mud everywhere and doubling down on silliness. You would be 10x more tolerable to talk to if you would stop reading words that aren't there and engaged with the ones that are.

Words have meaning for a reason and people say words with intentionality. No one on the planet would call a game that sold incredibly well, reviewed well critically and has majority positive sentiment from users as "heavily panned" because that is just not what that phrase means. There is a reason that 82% positive reviews on Steam mean "Very Positive" and not "Heavily Panned". I don't know why that needs to be explained lol

As for everything else, you're just way too opinionated. It's cool, you think every SH after 4 sucks and you don't even think 1-3 are that good. Sure, whatever, don't attack anyone who likes them and say that they're wrong. It's childish. There was some user here named Gorse (never forgetti) who used to say things I 100% disagreed with on a fundamental level. We were able to have heated but fair discussion about it and then joke about it elsewhere. Meanwhile someone here says that they're excited for a game or like a game you don't like and you just immediately fly off the rails. It isn't that deep, people are allowed to have wildly different takes on things than you.
