The boyfriend and I plan on watching Singin' in the Rain together at some point this week.

I've seen this movie multiple times and I still love it. It's very comfy to me.

Saw these last week. I also saw the first hour of Eggers' Nosferatu and honestly dropped it. Filled of horror cliches, jumpscares and a direction that can't decide if its a Evanescence clip or a new episode of GoT, its hard to believe the guy actually cared for the og film.

Juror #2 - Nice judicial thriller, I really was tense most of the film. Also, props to Nicholas Hoult, he really looked like the guiltiest mf on earth the whole film.

Lady Oscar - It was okay, the dialogue was a bit on the nose sometimes... but Catriona McColl looks so pretty, so all is forgiven

Star Wars - Can't believe I didn't watch it sooner. Now I get why my best friend has tried to make me watch it for years
Wish I didn't know the Vader/Luke/Leia stuff however

Robot Dreams - First, f*ck that dog.
Great film, the character animation is very good, which is needed for a movie with no dialogue. A nice story about loneliness, friendship and letting go

watched onna no ana last night. the first story it covers kind of stuck with me but it all just felt like an excuse to film a well produced pink film. the ending especially showed its true colors of being built on a pretty retarded basis. really didnt like that ending wish it stayed ambiguous but otherwise the movie was pretty enjoyable, liked the concept and execution of the first story (the main appeal) for the little there was.

Really, REALLY good movie. I honestly don't understand the bad ratings with this one.

The girl playing Ella is such a convincing budding young psychopath that I honestly believed her entire performance.

now youll think huh this looks like some b movie trash fun the kind of where you gather some friends and have a good time and it has those moments but they dont make up for what i think are the worst ever scenes ever concieved in a script like why would you do that like how do you think of that and then tell a group of actors to enact for a group of people to see.the after that the movie shift the tone so abruptly it feels like a flashbang of whiplash getting more unhinged by the second but is still not worth it dont watch this film.

Chat GPT recommended me this after I asked for something like Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I'm falling in love with this specific genre of movie that is 80's american high school drama comedy. I love the suburbs they live on and I find this romanticized yet sort of realistic high school setting exciting (despite some actors being way older than the characters they portray lol).

And man, some characters in this film needs some serious lessons regarding privacy, consent and harassment issues... but it is a honest reflection of our society, so I don't think I'd have the movie any other way.

i watched the movie because of this post and it was just a generically bad film nothing notable. good advertising though worked on me

I watched an old movie called Eye of the Cat after seeing a clip somewhere and being like, "what is this thing, now?" It's about a lady with emphysema and a plot to get her to change her will and then kill her, but she's got an army of cats in her house. Or, they threw like 50 cats in a house and the footage of them jumping around is supposed to indicate that they are scary. Anyway, it's like an hour forty and it might be someone's favorite movie, but it isn't mine. The whole movie is on YT but save yourself the time and just watch the only scene with any real energy to it

I watch stuff like this all the time but that's new to me, that clip is amazing. I'm gonna have to track that down to upload for my old man, he loves the actor there, Micheal Sarrazin, Gumball Rally was one of his favorite movies as a kid.

Today was Nosferatu (2024)! (The 1922 version was re-watched last week.)

Just like the original, it's basically Bram Stoker's Dracula, up until "the Count" actually arrives in England/Germany. We start with the hapless young lover, played by Nicholas Holt this time around, sent by his employer to a spooky ass castle in Transylvania. Much like every other version, it doesn't go *great*. Our dark creature of the night, Count Orlok, is an awful lot more monstrous than most Drac's, though; the accent Bill Skarsgard opted to go with is also A LOT, it was hard not to laugh.

I'd like to say more, but my stumbling block with this story is always the vampires willing servant, Renfield. The little sicko craves the life of small creatures, and frequently eats bugs in every iteration. They really topped themselves this time though, the bastard bites the head clean off a pigeon in a close-up, and we linger on the image. I just haven't got the stomach, The End! (No really, I'm making dinner here in a minute, I can't finish this.) I got maybe an hour in, I've heard the second half is more interesting, I'll have to skip ahead some other time after a light lunch.

I have pretty bad taste but I rewatched Jackie Brown which is one of my favorite films and Westworld released in the 70s. I don't know if I recommend it... but the second one left me quite amazed with the technology and the genre being "unusual" for the time, thanks for reading ?
