Soul Hackers is a great game with an incredible soundtrack, fantastic art direction and character designs, good visuals and graphics, and good gameplay as well.

Our collective trip to Saturn will never end.

I found out recently that, in many southeast Asian countries, the Saturn was packaged with its VCD card and was marketed as a high end VCD player as well as a console. Makes total sense, and makes me want to check out the VCD market (assuming they’re dirt cheap nowadays) to see if there’s anything I’d like to watch via the POWER of SEGA Saturn.

late reply to the soul hackers discussion above but how badly did you all pee your pants when you saw the natural born killers movie poster in six's room
i got up and backflipped three times

I only played the 3DS version (is there a translation for the SAT version?) but I must agree, NEMISSA BEST GIRL

I need to play more Saturn games but I will be the one who goes to bat for Sonic 3D Blast. Nowhere near my favorite Sonic game but I don't think it gets enough credit for laying some groundwork for Adventure. IMO the Saturn version is worth going for over the more accessible Genesis version for looking so much prettier + having wonderful special stages.

I loved Saturn as a kid, it had a cool ring and a cool name to go a-long with it!

As someone who grown up, I Earth has taken up that mantle but I’d still say Saturn holds a special place in my heart.

My people...

I was always a Sega guy growing up in the 90s. It was interesting being in the minority. I adored my SegaCD and Sega Saturn. They are such great time capsules. Not just for video games, but for anime (Sakura Taisen), but also for movies (Street Fighter The Movie The Game lol..), and weird experimentations (Nights)

I have I think 3 Saturn consoles? My original that no longer works, one I later bought to replace it that does still work, and one a friend gifted to me that doesn't work so that I have spare parts or a refurbishment project if I'm ever in the mood. And thank god for emulation to finally be where it is with the Saturn because I'm afraid to use my one good console, lest I end up with 3 broken ones.. It seems like a very fragile machine. Though to be fair my original died because I spent 2 weekends in a row playing 12 hour sessions of Dragon Force and burned it up lol and now the disc itself is slightly warped from it

Only other things I could add to the conversation, though is mentioning Dark Savior (an RPG in the spirit of things like Landstalker and Alundra), and Legend of Oasis, the sequel to Beyond Oasis for the Genesis/MegaDrive

I didn't own Burning Rangers, and especially things like Bulk Slash or Sakura Wars as a kid. So it's been an absolute treat to finally run through these gems as an adult. And eventually I'll make time for Panzer Dragoon Saga, Dragon Force 2, and the other two Shining Force 3 chapters. I feel blessed to even have these options available lol and at some point I'd like to get a Saroo or something
