The OST is the second best i've heard in an AnimeZed, a boy who lives in a bleak dystopian city called "Calm", is frustrated by his current situation in life; he feels that somewhere out there is a place where he can live more fully. One day, at the invitation of a mysterious wind, he dives into a space-time crevasse, leaving behind his terminally ill friend Noah. Riding on the wind, he is transported to a war-torn world where magic users called "Shard Casters" fight endlessly with each other, using spells in the form of marble-like "Shards". He is transported to a country known as Templar.
Zed undergoes countless trials in order to find out who he really is and what is most important to him.
Not sure if you are into delinquents or not but I really enjoyed the anime adaption of Be-bop High SchoolWhat're some anime that you may have watched that are obscure or you at least think might be obscure?
I would like Kakyuusei, Happy Happy Clover, Magical Nyan Nyan Taruto, Fighting Foodons, maybe some more if I look at what all I've watched.
I know of Be-bop High School but haven't watched it, though I've watched Haven't You Heard, I'm Sakamoto? (Sakamoto desu ga?) in late 2021 and thought it was pretty good. Not sure if you are into delinquents or not but I really enjoyed the anime adaption of Be-bop High School

Inuyashiki Last Hero. It's not the greatest anime I've ever seen, but it's still really good. I watched it with a couple of friends years ago and it hasn't left my mind since, which is a lot more than I can say about most things.
"Hit me on the ground! Hit me on the ground!"
Oh yeah, I remember seeing that at the video rental store. I always avoided it for shallow reasons though. I didn't like the animation style. So from the sound of it, it's not really worth it?x 1999 was pretty obscure in the west, the movie was expected to do well, and had big production values, but failed.
Oh shit, I forgot about that movie. A friend talked me into watching it with him, though I wasn't too interested based off the cover and stuff. But holy shit, that movie did not fuck around. Loved it.Ringing Bell (Chirin no Suzu / Chirin's Bell). It's a short film, about 50 minutes, from 1978. It is not a happy movie. This is a story about revenge. Yes, I'm being serious.
If you can track down some of the other linked works, it may be worth it.

Hyouge Mono, 39 TV episodes based on a comic that ran for 25 books. The premise sounds like a show made somewhere between the 1980s and the late 1990s. A protagonist who's already married, and who's obsessed with art and tea. A historical setting with no fantastic elements, no time travel, no dimension shifting. This was made between 2011 and 2012! It's lingered in fansub hell, never officially localized for streaming or home video.
I enjoyed watching Alien 9. That actually reminds me of a different anime which may or may not be considered an obscure anime.I watched Hyouge Mono last year and loved it. It's such an interesting look at aesthetic currents in Warring States Japan, and Sasuke is such a charming protagonist. It's sad that we don't get that kind of stuff anymore.
Recently watched a bunch of late 90s/early 2000s OVAs like Blue Submarine No. 9, Battle Fairy Yukikaze, and Alien 9. Really good stuff if you look.

It’s “uplifting” in the sense that it’s completely noncommittal and doesn’t really provide conclusive answers, because the anime staff didn’t want to write anything that would conflict with the then-still-running manga. Love the show, but I always felt a little gypped by the last episode — the manga ending is probably much preferable.though I hear the anime changed the ending to make it a bit more uplifting.
Do you know when in the manga it strays from the anime? It’s “uplifting” in the sense that it’s completely noncommittal and doesn’t really provide conclusive answers, because the anime staff didn’t want to write anything that would conflict with the then-still-running manga. Woah, that's kinda weird! I literally first heard about this anime three days ago and you posted this yesterdayI'll add Binbou Shimai Monogatari (Poor Sisters Story) as another potential obscure anime.
