Mega Man Megathread

Wily begging is part of his iconic joke, like his white flag of "i give up.... for now!". To the point that they even managed to do an ingame joke with the speed gear begging

Amazing how pathetic that moment was

The enemy weakness become better when his machines in the final fights also gets said weakness. Nothing like giving Megaman a way to beat his machines

Then again, the Mega buster is all that Megaman needs
 
Wily Capsule 7 is such a headache. I'll try again tomorrow with 4 E Tanks and an S Tank. I watched a few strategy videos, so I think I'll be good.

Will always love the good old covers, they got their style and charm that is no longer a thing

I'm having a great time playing Mega Man 8. The action is a lot more fluid, the music is peak and I really love the artstyle. I'm excited to start Mega Man & Bass after this too.

One thing I dislike, though. I'm playing it on MM Collection 2 for the PS4. The sprites are a lot more pixelated than the PS1 version. But, it's still fun.

Edit- Legend of Mana on PS4 suffers from the heavy pixelation too. Idk why these older games get ported and look worse...

They don't do integer scaling like on most emulators?

I also like MM8's style. A shame that no other game tried 7&8's style again.

I do appreciate the remaining use of the powers in this game and Powered Up, too bad they don't do it in other games.

The backgrounds in both MM8 and Legend of Mana look better, but the sprites are... jarring, to say the least.

Mega Man and Bass reuses the style, and so does X4 (kinda) but that's about it.

I've never heard of Virtual On before, but I just watched a video and yeah! Seems very similar to Pop'n Tanks.

Also, I googled what happens when you save all the robot masters. According to Google, they all become unlockable characters (haven't played Powered Up so can't 100% confirm)

I have 32 Bolts so far in Mega Man 8. Thinking about just completing the game tonight since I'm near the end of it anyway. Idk though, because I'm really sleepy.

I have Cutman and Bombman. You need to defeat them with the Mega Blaster.

OMG YOU CAN'T!!! This whole time I thought you could, but sure enough, 40 Bolts isn't enough.

That sucks!!! Well, I guess I can do without the upgrade to climb ladders really fast.

Either because they don't want you to get overpowered or maybe they haven't planned it...

Wish you could "sell" upgrades to reset them...

You need to get all robot masters in Powered Up mostly to take the alternate paths of the stages and find the pieces used for stage creator since they are blocked by something that only they can pass

Other than that, just to play as other characters and 100% the game

Not that is hard to unlock them, just reduce their HP then change to the mega buster, or just use the mega buster as a finisher

It's a decent downgraded port of Mega Man 1 but I'm a bit confused about why we get to see the MM2 robot masters in the boss rush section right before the true Wily Fortress in space. It feels like they've been added in the last minute just to give Megaman some more abilities against the final boss yet having Fire Man and Heat Man's power feels a bit redundant.

Finished Mega Man II on the Gameboy.
 
I got to the first stage of Wily's Tower in MM8 last night. The snowboarding is tough. I got frustrated, realized it was late as hell and went to bed. Bout to try again after I get some coffee.
