Lets go back to the 80's

For being the first game in the Metroid saga it looks good for the time it came out but the saga evolved so much that the first Metroid was somewhat obsolete due to its high difficulty especially that you started with 30 units of energy instead of 99, the lack of a minimap, there were no checkpoints until the elevator and it used passwords although in the FDS version it had a saving system but the good side is that this game established the genre of Metroidvania due to the concept that it is non-linear exploration and also because the sequels were better, especially the Super Metroid, which improved the Metroid formula.
