Yes fair point, as an example I am still rather salty about the GTA Definitive Edition situation.My only counterpoint isn't even against your argument. I just wish releasing a new remaster or a remake didn't mean they would also de-list older versions that had still been available previously. It means they are indirectly encouraging piracy at that point.
I am for remasters/remakes, especially for games I didn't have a chance to play back in the day.
Ok the definitive version is absolutely the weaker pick but certainly does not excuse the delisiting of the originals.
Rockstar should be proud of their original works and let them be, its all about options for the consumers too.
There are probably people out there that want to play the Definitive versions for various QOL reasons and also swap to the OG's whether that be for certain atmosphere, charm e.t.c.
