Its honestly funny how contradictory your take on "being yourself" while refusing to change and go out of your comfort zone you are in fact "being yourself" here for the better or worse ::sailor-embarrassed
I promised I would improve for real tho (except i'm not seeking help, but lets not talk about that in public pls)

I'm on a constant self improvement journey , i went from a complete pussy in social situations someone who's so afraid of speaking or even moving to not attract others attention to an absolute social animal.....while still being a gamer kek.
Is this weird to tell that I don't mind being mostly silent or not solliciting others?

Being silent ≠ having social anxiety

Making friends and connections is pretty fun , however there are people who seem approachable and others who aren't interested in getting to know you

I ended up befriending half of my colleagues in college and now I'm cursed with saying HI to so many people :loldog

Sometimes you are just not feeling like talking today which is fine too , but getting to know how to start a conversation can reap some benefits for you

Though some people are just more quite than others which is fine not everyone has to be on the same level of being social ::sailor-embarrassed

Subtitles and captions are the same thing
Not really.
Subtitles are a form of captions, but not all captions would fall under the definition of subtitles.

Subtitles are only transcripted pieces of dialogue, while captions have a much wider usage, being used to describe all kinds of audio in various ways, especially for viewers with hearing loss.

Stuff like [Wind rustling] or [Dramatic music playing] are captions, pieces of text meant to provide information on what's happening in a scene.

I have never understood why they're sometimes called "closed captions" because I've never heard of open ones.

I meant when captions are only being used for dialogue, not for other stuff

Apparently it's due to "closed" meaning that they have to be manually enabled (or "opened" I guess) by the user, and as such aren't hard-baked into the video feed.
You learn something new every day!

Well, that just boils down to incorrect usage of the term, if you'll pardon me being pedantic 🤓

Yes , yes i did

I learned how to workout at home and gained immense confidence AND actual muscle growth , i do push ups , setup ups , pull ups and squats and thinking about adding more exercises but i been slacking off for sometime now and i need to get back on track regarding my workout discipline

Hell i reached 400 push ups per day so much so my back started to hurt :loldog

I'm the sort of person who knows this task or skill is difficult but go straight in RUSH B style , it's actually fun figuring out and learning difficult things cuz it feels so rewarding
Right, so extremes aside. Imagine that you are really young, and you are asking questions about girls, self-improvement, etc. and rather than being told to do those kind of things, you are told "just be yourself" & "you're just fine the way you are."

::angrygenjin ::angrygenjin ::angrygenjin

If you're really young you're literally worrying about nothing thinking about 'self-improvement.'. You're not even a 'self' yet, you're a kid. Self-Improvement is something that scheisters try to sell unhappy people by preying on the insecurities that literally everyone has.
You should exercise because it keeps you healthy and is good for your body and mind, not because it's some kind of ingredient in a secret recipe of being an "improved person".

What 'be yourself' means is to stop worrying about shit like that and just act normal. There's no reason to pretend to be any other way. Be real and honest with yourself and others. Try to be someone you're not and people notice that fakery. Perhaps they don't realize they notice, but they do.
There's no formula for happiness that anyone knows and is refusing to tell you.

In that case it can be BS tbh

Yeah just more of accepting yourself with your own flaws kind of intertwines with "love yourself"

Honestly it does give you a boost of energy and i think certain studies showed how it effects your happiness and confidence so yeah it does make you better overall ::sailor-embarrassed

Hmmm learning some healthy habits like exercise and eating healthy and sleeping early etc early is better no?

I always felt like it was some sort of pyramid scheme or borderline-sectary thing to have those self-improvement ted talks.

You're right about some people preying on insecurities...

The entire topic got confused about this because they apparently didn't mean it like that when it should be about it.

Saying "shut up, you don't even know what i'm talking about" should be a human right

Being myself is overrated
Don't believe me?
Shut up, you don't even know what I'm talking about

think Dragonball Z Abridged sucks
I'd rather watch the original Ocean dub
If I wanted to listen to a bunch of incel clowns I'd go back to high sch--
Wait why would I want to do that.
if it makes you feel any better, even they regret a lot of their early humor, or that one episode of Hellsing Abridged. Episode 3 really. I still like them for the show and what they are. Though honestly other than Yugioh Abridged and maybe SAO Abridged, all the other ones are either terrible, mediocre, or are trying to parody something that's already a parody. Most of them remain unfinished or got even more unfinished, because of COVID. Kill La Kill Abridged is never getting done. I can live that as I have the actual series already on box set.

Team Four Star has grown as people, and they're not the same as they were back then. There's nothing wrong, he disliking it, but try not to be too judgmental on them.

PH is right. There are things that don't need or never need a sequel.

Still one of the best takes on how to do proper fan-service. Both clips are time stamped in order.

Tenchi OVA (Episodes 1-12) and Tenchi Universe are still king harem shows.

Inuyasha is one of the most pointless long running anime/manga ever made. That series did not need to be 150+ episodes.

Reno 911 was the best live-action comedy TV show in the 2000s.

Let's bring it back, less unnecessarily depressing, and do some takes on fictional stories. Okay?

Sunstone is the best comic you can read about an S&M relationship. Doubly so with a lesbian relationship. You can learn more about S&M from there than anything from the Fifty Shades of Gray trilogy. You filthy piece of Twilight fanfiction. Why do people get invested in that series again?

The John Carter of Mars books are glorified Isekai stories (not an insult nor being derogatory here). With John Carter being the clueless proto-shounen protagonist. No harem though, and he only cares for the one woman. Any other woman that gains an interest, he gently lets down. Making this franchise better than a majority of them and even some from the past.

Even before Frank Miller went off the deep end, I don't like a lot of his work. That includes his "good work".

I never found much interesting in Breaking Bad nor Game of Thrones. Glad I didn't stick around, and found so much better stuff.

Defenders (2017) I find better than the first two Avenger films.

Games that focus too much on realism forget to have actual gameplay or focus too much on details, when there is not much room for anything else. See Hellblade II or Ryse: Son of Rome.

The reason Capcom can get away with it in games under the RE Engine, is because they have actual gameplay, story, characters, distinct visual styles, or at least most of these to fall back on. Devil May Cry 5, any of the RE Engine games, and the upcoming Pragmata and Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

For another Sony example, see the Ghost games. Both of which that gets this right, but still remember to have a distinct art style and coloring that isn't "real is brown/dull grey".

I can actually agree with Yahtzee on this.

Sunset Riders, Wild Guns (SNES), Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, and Evil West are all better than the Red Dead Redemption franchise.

Beat-em-ups are not in "arrested development". It's nice when one does a change up that works or that is something different, but that doesn't mean every single game should follow it. Otherwise, you just run into the same problem gamers and especially professional critics complain about copying a genre blindly. There is nothing wrong with having an old school style brawler, that's just fun, but doesn't innovate. As long as the game is good and the loop is addicting in a good way, then I'm not going to cry about it. It's been been proven so many times people like just having a straight up arcade brawler that are straight to the point and don't waste time on exploration. Especially when that exploration doesn't work or has the laziest backtracking. A majority of the people in the comments seem to agree with me, and disagree heavily with the person in the video. His arguments aren't really saying anything new.And it's the crap you would hear from people who either don't like the genre or think they know everything that needs to be done without much backup or superfluous reasons. Fuck off KC. You almost always have the shittiest takes between you and Marty.

In addition:

Expecting SIFU to be the new high bar, and for every brawler to clear its impossible and imaginary expectations. All you're doing person in the video is setting yourself up for failure and constant disappointment. We are already have a few 3D games coming out similar to it, but they don't do the aging thing.m, and while challenging, they look to be easier. I want variety in my brawlers, but I don't want every single to follow the leader. That's what led us down to ruin and other genres in the first place.

The Leon sections are just as great as Grace's sections, and both complimented each other perfectly. Leon's Racoon segments are exactly what I asked for and they don't need to drag on that long. Especially when you know what you're doing and know exactly where you're supposed to go.

Health bars should be allowed to exists; especially in the beat'em up genre. Unless you're Double Dragon, but even Double Dragon Gaiden decided to bring in the enemy health meters to great effect. Not every game needs them, but you're mook or boss better be showing physical damage. I am glad health bars never left. 7th generation tried to make them disappear for the sake of "immersion and realism", but everyone got tired of that shit. I got tired of it at day one.

Across the Spider-Verse is the best Spider-Man film ever made, and conquers a majority of comic book films. Beyond Spider-Verse will do great. I don't know how far it will go and do, but I am ready for a great time either way.

The Sonic films I care way more about than most of the MCU or new DCEU.

I have still never given anything to a Kickstarter project before. I just wait until the game actually comes out, if the project is a success. I'm not one for episodic gaming either. The closest was Asura's Wrath, and I still waited till after the game went out on discount. A game that cost $60 and had missing levels held back for priced DLC! Ironic, because if anything needed to be done episodic style, it was that game.

I realized long ago that there are people in the gaming sphere that don't know what satire means. I am not just talking critics, even regular gamers too. Or they try to just assume and justify a game is satire with out much to back up, or pull out of their asses. Even when it's apparently clear, the game does not have a message, and it is fan-service for the sake of fan-service. Easy Allies' Huber made the same mistake with Killer Is Dead in a discussion video. Which is odd, because Easy Allies are mostly made up of former staff from Game Trailers, And last I checked, they didn't have a high opinion of the game. For example, the gigolo "side missions"/mini-game is no statement nor parody of James Bond. It just plain fan-service to get the player off, and the only reason why the mini-game is even in there is due to Kawada Publishing forcing Grasshopper to put them in the game. It explains why certain parts of the game are rushed or not as refined in certain areas. Meaning had Kawada not done that, they would not be in the game to begin with. The game would have gotten better polish in other areas and even better all the more for it.

2013 showed how flip-flop and hypocritical the gaming review industry really is. Glad I already learned long ago not to hang on to their every word and make decisions for myself.

Battletoads Arcade is still the best in the Battletoads franchise.

Sony needs to do more than just third person action games. I know you want your characters to have faces and everything, but they're too focused on being "cinematic" or cinema-like. It's nauseating at time. Remember, you are video games, not movies. That is not meant as insult; it's a reminder to never forget where you came from. Sony has a couple of 3D Platformers...okay really one they ever bother with, but they got others they don't even bother with, because apparently Jak & Daxter, or Sly Copper are no longer "marketable" or not serious enough. Which is bullshit! If you can still fund Insomniac to make Ratchet & Clank, you can afford the others. Sony, you are pussies and cowards for abandoning Japanese gaming, your Japanese audience, and those that more than helped you get where you are you ungrateful bastards.

Ninja Theory always felt like an animation studio that just happens to make games with flinging interests.

The Crysis games are the best Predator games ever made. Especially in the 2nd, and most importantly, the 3rd game with how stealth and cloaking work. Crysis 3 has an upgrade that allows you to do stealth kills, and still be cloaked. Crytek should be allowed to make the next Alien vs. Predator game or a solo FPS/Stealth Predator game. Crytek definitely have the chops to pull a cool concept; nuff said.

Had I known about Shenmue 3 kickstarter I probably would of donated, outside of that I 100% agree

Glad you didn't. That money of yours was probably spent better elsewhere. Just play the Yakuza games (the good older/old ones; their recent output has been rushed and terrible recently), or Street Fighter 6 World Tour Mode, if you need the fix this badly They're all better versions of Shenmue any way.

This is the most offensive thing anyone has said to me all night. We are no longer friends. (Joke) :P

I also love yakuza, but Shenmue has a special place in my heart
