Why are you asking this question on this day? The day of my dog's quincenera.

No I actively hate it and wish I could build a time machine to send John Connor into the past to prevent it from being made by any means possible. It's meant to aid us but it's just making everyone's lives fundamentally worse.

Dawkins has an AI girlfriend. Why did this guy ever get famous again? I never took the full seriousl the moment I heard about him.

Look at that, AI is costing this company way more money than saving, so they should have stuck with actual people.

This is why you should never get into a relationship with AI and treat it as if the thing is real.

Just another mentaly unstable individual further losing their grasp of reality.
Now if I were to go insane, I'd rather go with a tulpa.::winnie

Richard dawkins is mainly famous for being super anti-religion, to the point he made a career out of it.
Overall he's a terrible person though no matter your opinion on religion.

I am religious, but i've never used that to put down, nor hurt people.

As for Dawkins, he's sucking the Dickson of fuck heads who are only using as a tool, and he's too stupid and full of himself to notice. I've met more than a few atheists who don't like this asshole.

I'm an atheist. Dawkins has a very specific field he is knowledgeable in. Anything he says outside of that can vary in degrees of sus. As he has aged he has gotten far more crotchety, racist, and bigoted. Most atheist circles I'm in view him like a really embarrassing Uncle you genuinely hope just doesn't show up for the *insert family gathering/Holiday*.

And as we've later learned, even he's not that good at that anymore, or faltered by a lot.

Thankfully, I have uncles whom are none of that.

Dawkins in an obvious state of mental decline, and I wish his family would step in and try to limit his public exposure.

As a non-native speaker of a language ruled by Grammar Nazis, AI is immensely helpful when it comes to checking grammar/spelling on-the-fly and suggesting smoother phrases and transitions... It's a bit of a godsend there, NGL.

But it's also great fun for trolling and arguing with, especially when it comes to antagonizing that Grok bastard XD

I mentioned it in a different thread but the artistic value being lost for progress/making things faster is the most interesting aspect about AI as a whole to me. I would much rather do things on my own than have someone else do the basics of it and take the credit. I'm sure others feel the same way and they have the right to. Where the conversation gets adversarial is treating AI as this unavoidable thing that you HAVE to embrace, otherwise you're <<insert derogatory term here>>.
Instead of viewing AI as this thing that "even's the playing field". People should ask themselves why they even want to create while using it in the first place. If you're not bettering yourself through a skill or enjoying the grind of getting a project done. What's the point of using AI if it won't give you what you already lacked in the creation process to begin with? Drive, soul, and passion are the reasons humanity has progressed and created wonderful things. Don't sell yourself short to 1's and 0's that will never understand those things.

So am i, to the point it surprises people when i talk about it.
My point was that while dawkins is well known for his hatred of religion, he's also just a terrible person, even if you ignored his views on religion.

I just wish it wasn't used as a replacement for creativity. I don't see AI art/animations/pure code as anything but a spit in the face of the craft.

Id love to see it used more to translate games BUT only as a stepping stone. When that translation is spat out then it's now your job to fix typos, fix context's of conversations, fix sentence structures, etc.

If you just run it once and call it a day then that is stupid. Sadly, it's already happened a few times for a few games I have seen on here.

Essentially this, I'm the kind person most people here would scoff at (or make fun of) for using AI, but the thing is that I don't like using it lazily.
If or when I do generate an image with AI I don't just call that a day, there has to be more effort than just clever prompts otherwise it doesn't become what I want it to be.

Now you'll most likely ask, why I don't just do everything myself, well I like being surprised by what the AI might spit out (like a random number generator), but I don't like relying on that purely.

Similarly I'm very against vibe coding.
I can understand efficiency, but handing coding to AI purely? Nah, fuck that..
AI makes mistakes just like people, and just like people, the AI can also get lost in it's own code, that shit NEEDS to be cross examined and regulated.

I see that this topic delved into religion talk...

Isn't that Dawkins the guy behind the selfish gene?

Didn't really delve too much into religion itself (as per rules), but it's impossible to talk about dawkins and not mention his views on religion considering it's what he's famous for.

It's not something I really think about. I feel it has it's ups and downs like everything else in life. Pretty much, take it or leave it. It's like a car. It's useful yet it pollutes. Life is like a shoe in a dryer. The more you try to keep your life clean, the louder your brain gets because you try too hard. So let's all be dirty together.

I haven't embraced and probably never will but I am not scared of it either. At the end of the day AI in the terms that is a major issue right now WILL take over any job role possible and nothing we do will stop that, if employers want to replace their workforce and make money in the process then they will 100% do that. As for the entertainment industry. Movies, music and shows have sucked for at least the past 15 years or more so I can't really see how AI could possibly make it any worse.
Go outside, experience nature, face to face chat with people, read an actual book, all things no psychotic AI company can take away from you, ever.

Maybe Butler wasn't entirely wrong.
