Games You Finished in 2026

a very small list due to stuff going on in my personal life. (no order!! cant remember)
solatorobo (replay)
fuga: melodies of steel
fuga: melodies of steel 2
tail concerto
klonoa: door to phantomile
beyond: two souls (third replay)
final fantasy 7 (original) (fifth replay)
dark souls 3 (fourth replay)
parappa the rapper
vib ribbon
gitaroo man (third replay)

probably much more but im forgetting so much stuff. im mostly a replay person since picking up new stuff is somewhat hard but im trying.

simulator games that ive progressed in:
civ vi
bloons td6 (not really a simulator game (ofc) i just didnt know how to categorize it. definitely just leveled up a little bit)
ets2

havent finished but i wish to finish them soon:
elden ring :( (my pc suddenly CANT handle modded er even though i played it before. upsetting. im thinking of a cpu upgrade but the prices are insane right now)
starbound (all my friends keep getting bored of it :( its sad because i like the game a lot)

finished fuga: melodies of steel 2 a few hours ago. i dont know how to feel about the game so you can say that im conflicted about it. at one point i got so fed up with it i had to pull out my cheat engine so that i can just focus on the story because beating up the same set of enemies for 100th time was draining. they definitely put much more thought into the game though and i appreciate it. the difficulty has also escalated. its definitely much more interesting now and it surely feels more alive. the dialogue has very much improved in my opinion. the dialogue and characters dont run on weird outdated stereotypes anymore which is amazing. and im glad that they finally added running animations.

i'm counting games that only borderline count in an optional list and leave it up to binarymessiah whether or not to include them

of the mario games i've played a substantial amount of so far, i'd rank this one above yoshi's island, mk7, and mp9, but below 3d land, galaxy 2, spm, mkwii, and world. two things that dragged the game down immensely for me is how cryptic it could be and the somewhat bumbling movement. i felt like i had to use a walkthrough way more than was acceptable, and the tasks themselves that were hidden behind that crypticity were often really uninteresting.

that being said, the level design is generally really solid when the game stops being a wannabe action-adventure game and starts being being a focused obstacle course-style regular 3d platformer, i had the most fun in levels like lethal lava land and tick tock clock(terrible misuse of the slide bgm though (though not as egregious as in rainbow ride)). the hands boss was also fun. i also found this version of mario an incredibly endearing cutie-patootie, i once went up to the camera in the castle to look at him better and i genuinely wanted to pet him.

overall this is a game that i respect for it's historical value more so than one i necessarily enjoy.
level tierlist:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (loved it)
Resident Evil Village (I enjoyed 7 a lot more)
Tony Hawk's Underground 1 (my favorite PS2 THPS game)
Devil May Cry 5 (I'm not hot about it like everyone else on the internet, but I think it's okay)
Grand Theft Auto IV (PC version is undeniably wonky, but I had a good time once I worked out the problems)
