games that every one hate's but you don't hate.

Spider-Man 3 for PS2.

Not the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions because they are unusually worse than their old-gen versions.
It's a game that not many liked: poorly maintained graphics, poor animations, cutscenes bordering on the ridiculous, and a dubbing worthy of Dingo Pictures films. But it is a game that I sincerely adore both for the swinging (walking around New York in 2007 takes me back in time to when I saw it in films and on TV as a child) and for some clashes like the one with Venom or Lizard, and because is the final Spider-Man game by Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire (penultimate, if considered the last belonging to this universe, "Spider-Man: Friend or Foe")

Final Fantasy 2 (The PSP/GBA version) and Castlevania Dracula X
FF2 is much more manageable in those versions than the original NES and PS1 version.
Dracula X is just a worse version of Rondo of Blood, but i still find it charming and don't hate it at all. It still has bullshit difficulty though.

Resident Evil 6. Its reputation seems to have improved a little with time however. I personally found it to be a fun action game and believe there is a lot to like here and the four campaigns provide a good variety. Even though I do enjoy the game I won't pretend it wasn't a messy game. Also wished Jill and Claire were there with Chris and Leon, felt like a missed opportunity to not have all of four them in there.

Devil May Cry 2/Chaos Legion. Same engine iirc, came out at roughly the same time, both kinda underrated hack'n'slash titles.
Dark Souls 2. It has its flaws, it's certainly the most uneven Soulsborne but there's something about its style and atmosphere that I enjoy enough to grit my teeth through the occassional annoying section. I have to say I like it a bit more than DS3 which may be the better game overall but felt like just more of the same to me.

Yes, the voice acting in the English release sucks. Almost everything else about this game is bloody phenomenal, with the sole exception that costumes are bound to the character portraits & skits only, and are never worn by the character models.

Pretty much any Musou game.
I think those kinds of games work really well on handhelds like the Switch because they have a very "pick up, play, put down" nature to them. I feel like a lot of people don't realize that they aren't the kind of games you spend a couple of hours playing in one session.

I used to go on a bus every day to get places, and I would bring my Vita and a copy of Samurai Warriors 4 with me. By the time I had exhausted my desire to keep playing in that session, I had gotten to my destination and had done a couple of missions already.

Sonic and the Black Knight. I dunno, I just think the game is fun and I'm a big fan of the setting. But I will admit there were a few frustrating things about the game, like the King Arthur fight.

IMO the best way to play that game is by mapping the motion controls to analog sticks in Dolphin - it really makes a difference and makes the game, I'd argue, a lot more fun and DEFINITELY less arm straining.

Sonic 06 multiplayer was fun as hell, and me and a friend had a lot of laughs trying to figure out the single player story.

Also, I'm not sure what the consensus online is, but I remember every person I showed Kirby's Pinball Land could not care less about it. Its a gem of a game in my eyes, and I played the crap out of it on my gameboy. Its so simple, but infinitely replayable. KPL is one of the few games that even my parents enjoy.

Two worlds 1. It runs like ass on both 360 and PC but that game has that charm that is so bad that is good. Mostly thanks to the bad voice acting and memorable moments like getting the oportunity to kill the final boss in the first town with the help of a villager army
Is Oblivion on steroids! the critics said.

Also Activision/Blizzard can go to hell but I love the 360 version of Diablo 3. It doesn't have the last updates but you can play it offline and that makes the 360 port awesome.

Final fantasy usa (japan).
final fantasy: mystic quest (usa).
mystic quest legend (europe).

...it started out as a weird crossover between final fantasy and sa-ga.
very poor received, that's for sure.
when I was just starting out with emulation back then, with super nintendo and sega genesis emulators.
easily mistaken it with final fantasy iv (like an "official" pirate version, just saying lol).

in the moment I played it, I cherished it.
passing through the gameplay, so simple, yet charming (and sometimes difficult or frustrating back then),
from level forest to the bone dungeon exploring it, it had been a pleasant experience (...)

with this video game, it was the beginning and odyssey with jrpg's in my life.

(...although this is not the same as comparing the first the Legend of zelda and breath of the wild...)
well, for some reason and sometimes, I compare it, at its core and base, to final fantasy crystal chronicles.
both video games share certain things, however, the main difference is obvious.

FF2 is awesome, man. After beating Soul of Rebirth, I couldn't believe people would claim it's the worst FF game. The Arcane Labyrinth I could do without though, not worth the hassle.

Ive seen people crapping all over Tarzan on the ps1, but it's a nice game! Looks good, sounds nice, it's not Klonoa but it's a good enough simple platformer to breeze through

Chaos Legion on ps2 is also good I dont know whats up with youtubers trashing it; the only problem is that capcom USA screwed up the difficulty so jap hard is normal, making the game super grindy for no good reason
As long as you pick easy first it's a nice mosuo-style game with a very unique puppet mechanic and nice music and atmosphere

The same goes for Nanobreaker, yeah it's no devil may cry but it's still good in its own right and it's very technically advanced

Fire Emblem Fates does have a crummy story and terrible translation but once you install fan english patches + undub it's got pretty fun mechanics, its got a ton of variety and it's fun to mod and mess around with cheats, lots of unique maps, very well animated, good music, good dlc maps..
You can do a lot worst

Sonic CD is amazing if you dont play it like sonic 2 and play it like a 2d exploration game
didnt know fates had fan english patches
::eek ill have to check it out as i myself have been a fates hater due to the translation lol

i like nightmare on elm street. but i do love the Angry Video Game Nerd Spoof On It. it's the first 4 player co-op game on NES a game that break's friendship's if you don't know how to play.

also.
