Nothing brings me quite so much joy as seeing numbers grow, whether on an RPG or these very forums.

And you know what number has been growing like crazy in these last couple of weeks? The number of members who have joined this party! It's like they knew I was here and decided to come on over ask for an autograph... story of my life, really >:D

But, in all seriousness, we should probably do something to celebrate this awesome madness... I mean, a forum reaching seven digits was always a rarity, but to do so in 2026 is nothing short of a miracle.

We are not TikTok, Facebook, Sewer or Instagram — we are text walls on screens. By all logic, we shouldn't even be here... but we are! And we are sticking it up the entire internet's fucking ass with each new day we thrive.

So, let me propose you a fun activity to continue doing so: a forum masquerade.

What is it? Oh, it's a classic we used to enjoy a ton somewhere else, kinda like a digital Halloween party.

Anyone who's interested in participating just has to register a new account and waltz around the site as if it were their first time here, playing a character for the audience of fellow forum-goers — whoever manages to remain undetected the longest, wins a cool award! It's like a spy game, but text-based (and potentially less lethal) xD

Is this something you'd be interested in doing?

Decidedly not my thing but have fun if you choose to participate.

Oh really I'm good at this when we start
(Alright I really you cannot use the Casual Discussion if I remember?)

We start as soon as the forum reaches 1.000.000 members (should be sometime next week).

And that's the fun part! We have to give our performance WITHOUT General Discussion or Chatter >:D

I knew my code-switching would come in handy at some point!

My alt which i have had since a long time ago is still undetected! ::eggmanlaugh
But i won't use that for this event... I'll create a new one! ::kefka-48

We should probably have some sort of sign-up sheet to know who's playing and who to look for, least we turn this into the next Salem Witch Trials (amusing as it would be) xD

Well, i'm in! ::coolstafy
Should we wait until reaching 1,000,000 members before creating the alt account?
Or can we create it already?

What do you think we should do? It was done both ways in the past.

Oh shit— It's been a very long time since I've seen a forum masquerade of any sort. It's been so long that I don't remember if we even called it that, but I do remember doing something similar on an old forum ages ago. I'm fully down for it.

Maybe a date range should be defined?
However, all accounts that joined in that date range would be natural suspects!

Yeah, that's how I remember it being done. All participating players had to join in a 2 or 3 day span, and after that no one else was allowed to participate.

Maybe we should wait until the number is hit, then we proceed.

We can brainstorm it in the meantime.

We should also come up for a way of people to guess who is who (but we can probably use this very thread for that).

Oh! We could also award a second prize to whoever unmasks the most competitors :O!

This shit's overflowing with potential.

So, should there be a deadline for the event?
Like, after reaching a certain date (or member number), the game would be considered finished?

Depends on how many people end up playing — it could very well be a "last man standing" kind of deal!

Unless we want multiple winners or it gets down to the wire and the very last people still aren't getting out, probably not. I doubt there will be all that many people participating.

We'll have to set some other ground rules of course, just basic details. For example, do you NEED to be still "in" in order to guess others? Or can you still try to get people out once you've gotten out?

So how it's going to work?
Users would guess who is an alt of who?
If so, how the guess is verified, and is there a limit on the number of guesses?

Anyone who makes their name 16 characters long with capital letters A through F and numbers 0 through 9 gets my blessing.
::winkfelix

We can brainstorm it.

@lestagio: You have experience with this sort of thing, right? What would you suggest? Let's make this a group project for a group celebration!
