Since at least a few you have shown interest on the Forum Masquerade idea, I figured we should keep this train rolling by brainstorming ideas and defining who's actually playing.

Basically: tell us if you are playing (so we would know who to look for) and how you'd like the game to be played — suggest rules and ideas you think would make the game better for both players and spectators!

There are no wrong answers here!

Remember: Game starts as soon as RGT hits 1M members!

Your judge:

- @RGT Staff.

Your players:

- @Samantha.

- @Zerpina.

- @ArchienineZXAdvent.

- @Antaeus.

- @Lod 10.

- @JustLooking123.

- @lestagio.

- @Megarockman _1987

- @Dr.Kisaragi.

- @Aldia.

- @Heidegger of Shinra.

- @RageBurner (maybe).

- @Sheepy765 (maybe).

I'll play along.

I think we should go ahead and create our alts between now and then, but not use them until the game starts. This way, we won't see a bunch of new users popping in within a few days.

Spreading it out like this can help avoid that.

*Edit.
Actually, maybe create a few posts so that new users with zero posts won't stand out like a sore thumb, so to speak.

Is there still time for me to register? Can someone explain the rules to me?

Ya... when the game starts, just make an alt account for the forum and post as normal. Don't let anyone know it's you, and try to hide the fact that it is you.

That's basically it, Lod

I don't know how we are going to identify users yet. We might need to DM Samantha or someone else and say "I think User X is actually User Y"

Okay, thank you, Captain. Have a great Sunday! Later, I can ask you for more PS4 cleaning tips and some computer advice if it's not too much trouble, as I'm very busy with my hobbies.

Welcome, and watch a Youtube tutorial about the PS4, so you can go back and re-watch.

And sure.

Bem-vindo(a)! Assista a um tutorial no YouTube sobre o PS4 para que você possa voltar e assistir novamente.

E claro.
Well, I know you stopped following me .I'm also very addicted to the device I'm talking about on my cell phone right now. Do you have any recommendations on how I can disable the shorts videos?

I was DMed this and thought it was cool:

To identify users, whoever is in charge of knowing who is who should be DM'ed by each participant. When you guess who a user is, say who you think they are and include a reason for your guess. Otherwise, people could just guess and narrow it down easily.

You might also want to restrict each user to three guesses per day to cut down on guessing.

Make the game a week or so long, so it doesn't go on forever.

Thoughts?

Alright, I'm in.

I think that works. If Sam is in charge and is okay with already being on the outside and knowing who is who, I think that would work best.

I believe everyone knows the basic rules of the game at this point, but some of the smaller details need to be tracked, too.

- A main thread explaining the general rules, and the below information.

- Publicly announce who has been eliminated in the main thread.

- No impersonation/cosplaying as someone else on the forums. This has to just be a new person who has never been around before.

- Players must stay active, probably at least 1 post per day to keep the game going.

- Set a limit for how many days new participating accounts can be made (Maybe only alt accounts made up to 2 days after the event starts are eligible?)
- Obviously tracking who's who and limiting guesses... People can probably just DM the head of the event what their alt name is. Also, I like the idea of 3 guesses per 24 hours

- An end date for the event... Unsure how many people are participating, but if many people end up playing then maybe only set an end date once a certain amount of people have been eliminated?

- Other small details, such as if non participating players can guess too, or if someone who was participating but was eliminated can guess.

As I said, this is all up to community discussion of course, but it's just some ideas. I'm mostly making this just to give myself and others a basic checklist of what needs to be considered for this to run smoothly, instead of causing arguments about edge cases.

Other points of discussion:

- Can people can make threads and "alliances" to try to deduce who others may be?

- Are we okay with players posting on their main accounts during this time as well to add an extra layer of deception?

I'm hoping this one could be it.

Of course.

Yeah, that's about the only hard rule I want for this.

I definitely want this to happen.
- Set a limit for how many days new participating accounts can be made
I think once everyone who has decided to play has confirmed to have created an alt, we can commence.

I think a week is plenty enough (or until everyone has been eliminated).

Probably not, but we will see how everyone else feels about it.
- Can people can make threads and "alliances" to try to deduce who others may be?
I think it best to keep everything centralized on the one thread, but we will see.
- Are we okay with players posting on their main accounts during this time as well to add an extra layer of deception?
Yep!

I'll be your Game Master.

Once you have made an alt, DM it to me so I can keep track of who is who to confirm or deny guesses.

Come on Sammy, you sound like Dr. Wily in Mega Man 6 using the indentity of Mr. X

Anyway, if anyone is going to create their alt, remember that the join date of the accounts are publicly visible! ::winkfelix
