Fighting Game Central

I've been spending a lot of time on Fightcade these past few weeks, getting reacquainted with SF3:3S and Garou. I've been playing B. Jenet as my new main in the latter and having a blast, still sticking with Makoto in the former.

Me and a long-time fighting games friend recently played a ton of Vampire Savior too. That game's still great fun, and I enjoyed relearning Lilith after so long.

It's a very nostalgic genre for me. I loved fighters in the 90s where they exploded in popularity and were evolving in different ways. Today I find the genre pretty stale and boring and don't play them anymore. Most of my favorites are from the 90s and they are mostly 2D fighters though I've dabbled a bit in some 3D fighters like the Tekken, DOA, and Soul Calibur series and had fun with them. I always gravitated more towards the 2D ones though.

Darkstalkers 3 on the PS1 and Vampire Savior on the Sega Saturn
RIvals Schools United by Fate and Project Justice
Marvel Super Heroes
X-Men vs Street Fighter
Marvel vs Capcom - I like X-Men vs SF more though. MvC is a little too wild and crazy.
Mortal Kombat II
Battle Arena Toshinden 2
Street Fighter II: Rainbow Edition
Guilty Gear
Psychic Force
Red Earth
Dragon Ball Z Bodokai
Dragon Ball Z Bodokai 2

My favorites are; (i suck at fighting games and havent played many)

1) Digimon Battle Spirit 2/ Frontier because nostalgia (one of the two gba games I had growing up).
2) Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection PSP: I suck at it but I really liked the characters and story specifically tomboy Asuka.
3) Marvel Vs Capcom 2 (played it a lot on 360)
4) Super Smash Bros Melee
5) Tekken 8; I wish I could learn fundamentals and git gud.
6) Digimon Battle Spirit 1/1.5 I might place this higher as I play it more. I like the cast.
7) Darkstalkers Chronicle/Vampire Savior/Ressurection PSP/360/Saturn. I think they are the same. I played it first on PS Vita and then it inspired me to get a used Saturn for in like 2013/2014 I destroyed my case for the saturn version (probably wont get another CIB because of the tariffs) but I still have the disc.
8) Smash Bros Remix : Really cool what they did with this mod
9) Street Fighter X Tekken (love the visuals)
10) I guess Dead or Alive 4?

Virtua Fighter is the best fighting game. It's simple, easy to pick up and understand but has such intricate mechanical complexity once you dive into it. It's a masterclass of game design, I can invite anyone over and they can enjoy this game and even win a few matches.

I rarely play fighters these days. The only ones in recent memory that looked interesting to me were Dragon Ball FighterZ and Diesel Legacy the Bronze Age. I loved the genre back in the 90s though and I played some of the Dragon Ball Z Budokai games in the early 2000s too because I like DBZ. So here are some of my favorite characters from back then. Feel free to post your favorite fighting game characters as well.

My fav characters from the only two fighting-game series I've played:

Siegfried (played "Soul Calibur 3" on ps2, put hours and hours into it)
Christie (yes, her again, as in every comment I made on fighting games)
Leon (I was sorry he's not in DOA5 but I liked him being in DOA Dimensions and DOA2)

As divisive as BBTAG is, Neopolitan is one of the most fun characters I've ever mained, single-handedly regrettably convinced me to watch RWBY

Sorry about that, I did a search and didn't see that first one in the results, maybe it's because I spelled favorite differently. The second one wasn't specifically about characters, which is what I wanted.
