Who the fuck wanted a Dawn of Souls style campaign (as a full priced console exclusive) about Kratos' second dead wife written by an IGN game journo? Like, the two prior entries have been setting up Atreus, what kinda dumbass rugpull is this? This is going to be the first Kratos-less entry in the franchise, and it's about some dead old bitch we cremated in the first 30 seconds of GoW 2018. Who saw that and was begging, PLEADING, for a followup for her? This was such a nothing idea, just a find/replace search in the script for Kratos Laufey going to kill two random war gods in the after life.

Ultimate Prediction: There's going to be nothing but bitching and moaning from and up to it's final release. Then when people finally play it, it'll be met with a shrug, a sigh, and be forgotten as another "hey, remember that game?" softly killing the series until it gets rebooted 15-20 years later.

I can say that I hate it but I also acknowledge this has an audience, so fair play but personally I won't play it as I just know how the writing is going to be, the painfully slow cinematic moments, the force walking. Press R2 to continue cutscene etc
I'm just not interested in pretty looking movie heavy games by default and that's exactly what this is.
The combat.. ok sure it looks good, but I'm not sitting through the rest of the 'game' to get there, no way. agonizing.

Said this yesterday, but complaints like this, no matter how valid one may feel they are, are ultimately kind of missing the point. Even if the things people complain about are changed or removed, they won't actually make the game better when you really break it down. You're still gonna be left with a fundamentally boring, mediocre cinematic game that does nothing interesting.

Studios releasing this kind of shit are trolling the viewers. They know their target audience (the real one) and they know that no one is interested in playing as a middle aged lady. You can be sure that they anticipated the backlash and were actively counting on it, since it gives them free advertising. Studios have been doing it a lot lately, it's almost as if they don't have faith in their product.
A lot of people are going to see this shitstorm and will support said studios in order to feel superior to all the 'sexists'.

I must admit that i'm not a fan of the God of War franchise and also I think Kratos is one of the most detestable protagonist in any game ever, but after watching the trailer for this new game, I started to think that Kratos may not be such a bad protagonist after all, at least he has more of a "main character" feel to him.

I thought Freya was an interesting addition to this new chapter of Kratos. And I wouldn't mind seeing how they handle his wife in this game other than a simple plot point...
