been wanting to play the english patch of the saturn mobile suit gundam game, i've never emulated the saturn before and it seems more intimidating compared to other consoles ive emulated

There's a new saturn emulator in town...

Still early but very promising, the interface looks a lot like standalone Flycast.

Anyways, I use Beetle Saturn Core in RAlibreto when things don't work in Ymir:

Mednafen is really good for the Saturn, but its interface is a little troublesome. What I recommend is to grab a UI, then just google how to change the settings. You'll find guides easily, it's not really that complicated to do, just annoying the first time. Once you're set up it's not hard to use. Still it'd be great to have a Duckstation-style Saturn emulator.

I use Emuhawk, it's not as precise (Some games gets an aneurism with the transparency, especialy heavy ones like Princess Crown) but is the only one that doesn't play at 60 minutes per frame

That said, you need to find the BIOS by yourself

didn't we have a bios collection for almost all systems right here?

Is SSF frowned upon as far as Saturn emulation goes? That's what I've used forever.

I've always used it but I would like to try something else. However, I'm using a potatotop that can barely do Dreamcast emulation. NullDC is the only one I can get to work after tons of fiddling. So many of the newer emulators do not like to run. I can't do Vita at all. I can do a lot of PSP games. But some lag badly in full screen. Shattered Memories glitches like nightmare fuel. Everything was distorted. In fact, it's what prompted me to mod my PSP. I just need a new battery.

Getting back to Saturn, I tried Yabause many years ago. Back then it had some known issue with the world map for Albert Odyssey. It would be rendered as eye bleeding nuclear yellow. I think it had something to do with the cloud overlay. But I stubbornly refused to switch back to SSF and sallied forth. I finished the whole game like that. :loldog

I had another issue with Magic Knight Rayearth. One of the dungeons would not render correctly so I ended up going back to SSF. This was a really long time ago. Maybe 15 years. I'm sure those issues have long since been fixed. But Yabause in its current form does not work for me. I'm not sure why. It just doesn't.

I remember several years ago, one of the things with SSF was that it couldn't run Panzer Dragoon Saga properly when you came to the disc swap parts, but somehow it would work if you played the PAL version? No idea if that's still an issue or not, but I would like to replay PDS at some point in a way that actually lets me finish it.

I beat it using it. I think you had to turn Perfect Synchro on, though. But I don't remember any disc swapping issue.
