Discord server shutdown

How about adding a chatroom at the forum instead? Chatrooms are much better than discord servers.

Can't say that I was fond of discord. But now I wonder how will I post my favorite music:)

For some reason he suddenly disappeared a half year ago and even not answered to me in pm. (we chatted a little bit before it) I'm worrying a little bit that something might happened to him.

What made them think you weren't modding well enough? That sounds like it turned into a cliquey little bullshit circle.

I'm still curious what the ultimate fall of the discord was. It sounds like at the end it met the same fate as most discords.

It was a forum user getting banned on the discord, but the 3 people that were sending death threats to the forum user didn't get banned. The mods were deleting their messages instead of banning them.
So Spike banned them himself & shut down the discord.

One of those 3 people that got banned was that annoying maru person.

A normal day at discord then. Also this sounds like the real reason the discord server got shut down while the own just said generally that "it's hard to moderate a discord server".

It IS hard to moderate the server on top of everything, that's why it was closed. The mods weren't doing their job (as far as I can tell) and Spike had no time for keeping an eye on it on top of everything else, so the only real choice was to close it.

To be honest it got out of control in my opinion, i've seen things done that do not represent me. I've always tried to treat people fairly, I didn't always succeed and I'm truly ashamed for that.
I respect all opinions, as long as you don't break the written rules we decided upon I'm happy.

The treatment of some users in that discord wasn't acceptable to me and I can't in good conscience have that going on and do nothing about it. The amount of time it would take to run it as I would like to doesn't exist in my day to day. I can however run this forums much better. So I rather consolidate users here if possible.

This 100%, I'm just curious about what the drama was because I'm the kind of person who loves Jerry Springer, and Maury and shit like that. Spike made the right decision though.
