Without wanting to go to far of topic while Tranny sure is not a nice word yet I would not make it equivalent to the N Word considering the Historical context.

While the historical context may not have been the same it is still a derogatory slur that denies the person of their humanity (like the f-word for homosexuals) so this is what I meant by comparing it to the n-word and I am pretty sure you understood that.

I won't derail the topic nor go political but if someone wasn't interested in a game because the protagonist was transgender (which by the way doesn't matter in gameplay, Celeste is good regardless of the protagonist's gender) and I just think that the word choice was just poor.

Maybe they didn't intent to dehumanize an entire community but this feels like 2008 game chat with edgy teens. Especially when this is a forum with actual people who are transgender in the first place.

Its derogatory sure but as far as denying anyone the humanity in regards like the n word did in the past,
but I am not sure I would go as far,
its more like equivalent to call someone freak or A hole not nice and should not be said that is for sure in civilized discourse.

But I get why you made such a extreme comparison to bring your point across of course,
personally I just want to keep things accurate and not mixed up.

He could have phrased it differently of course but to say such things don't affect gameplay is not true since the story and characters of a Game do influence how I would enjoy the gameplay itself

Sorry but at least "a-hole" does not target a specific minority. Furthermore rule #3 explicitly said:

Now the issue is that they didn't talk about MC's personality nor design but only said they didn't like because they noticed that the MC was a transgender person (while using the derogatory word instead of the proper one).

Anyway, this debate is over: don't use that word to refer to transgender people, it's as simple as that.

not sure if he was even serious to be honest but yeah he could just have written Transgender instead or Trans,.

Also not want to sound harsh but is when you make a Trans Character in game not part of the design ?

As much as I'm tempted to indulge in this conversation, I like this community and don't want to break the rules by discussing politics here. You seem like a pretty cool guy and I'd rather not argue with you. Let's just respect each other's right to choose our own words and not impose our morals on each other, yeah? If you want to give up certain words to be more politically correct that's fine, but you can't force other people to do that with you. We both have the right to express ourselves freely, and neither of us can take that away from the other.
