This is a mix of rpg/monster catching/visual novel for the N64. Story description: As a late-‘90s release, Zool clearly draws inspiration from the Pokémon formula. You play as Leo, a 10-year-old boy living in a commune in the village of Lunour (or possibly Renoul—again, blame the Japanese language). Leo lives in a “children’s house,” which is essentially an orphanage. Roche, the wealthiest man in Lunour, is a collector of majuu (magical beasts). IIRC this was the closest thing to a Saturn/PS 2D RPG the N64 ever got. Definitely a curious piece of work.
