Fun fact: it has been 5 years since Age of Calamity. And now we're getting a new HW. And, no, I still don't trust Koei Tecmo for this one. But might as well try the demo if they drop it before the game's release.

I don't care that much about Hyrule Warriors.

On the other hand I'd like to see another Cadance of Hyrule or any new spin-off idea.

The problem is that they wanted to go with easily explorable lore stuff on purpose. Made me wonder if they planned this before writing TOTK. And I will expect that Link will be playable somehow, even if it won't make any sense.

Good thing you specified new on spin-off, otherwise I would have spammed a Tingle without any mercy. :loldog

HW games are in fact canon? I always assumed they were mostly "what if" kind of scenarios.

I'm confused about the second HW game anyway (since they wanted to explain the events from before BotW yet said it wasn't canonical...)

Sadly I feel like we missed the window of any potential Linkebeck or any other major NPC having their stories.

On a side note I'm almost surprised we didn't get to see a second Link Crossbow Training for the Switch.

the first hyrule warriors can be canon. it follows the same set up as the other games; link and zelda stop ganon/ganondorf. i'm pretty sure that it is not. i think nintendo wanted to try something different and to give some zelda fans something to entertain them while breath of the wild was being worked on.
i know that isn't very deep, but story always second or dead last with nintendo games; hence me summing the series up in one sentence.
yeah, age of calamity is mostly nonsensical. i think it is a case of wanting to use the assets that they already had to get their money's worth of time and effort spent on making them. which i believe is the same reason that 99% of totk is the same layout with like, 3 new things added to the overworld and spammed all throughout it.
link's crossbow training was supposed to be the second installment of twilight princess. or something like that. i don't think many people were very impressed, revisiting the same area with little to no change. i played the game, and i only did like one or two levels and lost interest.

So, it's like this..
I first started Breath of the Wild on Master Mode, which forced me to really learn the battle system, or else continue to get my ass kicked.

Eventually, I move on to Tears of the Kingdom. It had been awhile in between games, but playing it a little I was easily able to get back into the 'feel' of the game. Having played BotW it became butt-ass easy, especially having played on Master Mode. But here's what I really find interesting.

In Breath of the Wild, I was forced to fight for my fucking  life in every battle, every encounter. I would go through at least several weap9ns, usually about 2-3 per enemy. That's not to mention how often you have to perfect guard, or flurry rush or come up with ways to cleverly avoid the enemy's attacks. It pushes you to the  limit.

Then Tears of the Kingdom rolls around; no master mode, so the game is already pretty much on butt-ass easy mode. Then, you get further and
unlock companions; other characters who will fight for you. It's so ridiculously OP that I hardly fight anything now, I usually just run up to it and let my entourage wipe out whatever it is; sometimes I even fight enemies that are somewhat strong (Silvers) using only Yunobo's roll, and the other companions (they automatically attack on their own).

What I find compelling is thus; Breath of the Wild kicks you while you're down and stomps your face in the mud while making fun of you (Instead of throwing yourself at enemies again and again to no avail, why not try.. getting good?) but Tears of theKingd9m will hold your hand like a little old lady trying to get across the street.

What a weirdly inconsistent mess, and that's not even getting to the timeline 😅

The morning theme playing after a long and scary night in any Zelda game is so soothing and relieving

I got to have a fun little adventure of my own in Totk, driving my VTV (Vehicle Transport Vehicle) carrying my latest ship to the lake. My ship has spikes and a Lynel armor piece on the front, and a couple fans pointed down and back for some extra balance and boost, but it is powered mainly by a detachable main fan which you activate and then just kinda set it under the sail and it goes fast that way. I had a fun time driving it from Tarrey Town to this location:

There, I sailed it to Eventide Island and dismantled it to put it back on my armor and weapons, aside from the fans. No steering stick necessary for this ship! 😅

I've tried to do some mix between that morning theme and the demo (albeit cut).

I wish they did that once you've finally restored the Triforce of Courage.

I mean it certainly looks like ”live-action Zelda” but I never really assumed it’d look particularly good.
It’s a pass for me, but it was always going to be. No biggie.

Sadly even with the voice being "cleaned up" it has a lot of artifacts in the sound... I feel like that rendition of the Link's Awakening overworld theme is a lost media...

Unless somebody completely recreates from scratch and by hear that theme there's 0 way to get the full thing in its purest form.

Totk rant:
Dude, idk wtf is going on here.
I know I did these things but I have no fucking glimpse of an idea how I did 'em. Let me start.

One thing is that I know I made a vehicle using a wagon body but that had no wheels on it. Now every time I look it up on Google, it says the game doesn't  have any wagon body without wheels attached. Like.. dude. I know it has to have one somewhere because I'm looking at the shit in my autobuild; there's just no way I could have made that without it being in the game. So after exhausting myself from searching on Google as well as checking every stable in the game, I'm still stumped as to how the hell I made it.

The other thing.. is this.

So here we have my favorite contraption, sitting on the roof of my floating home. As you can see, it is very fucking high up off the ground here; it's hard for me to even get to the place, and almost impossible to enter my bedroom (which involves stacking a daisy-chain of floating platforms, going up it, then moving the entire thing the other way, back and forth stairway-ing up high enough to enter my bedroom via ascend; it's the only way in.

Now, I know I accompished the task of somehow building the thing on top of my house, but I have absolutely no fucking idea how I did it. I basically did it just to take this screenshot and baffle other Totk players as to how the hell I even got all the pieces up there (as you can see, they're real and not made of zonaite) to begin with. I knew I'd confuse someone with this.. Just never expected it to be me. 😅

yeah, the game can do this to someone. you'll just be throwing stuff together and seeing what works and then you'll get distracted by something and forget how you made the thing in the first place.
i think the wheel-less wagon thing might be from the great fairy side quest. i think you have to attach some spare wheels to a wagon that broke down; and anything that gets used in building stuff gets added in, even if it something that exists for one instance in the game.
the contraption needs more sharp stuff on it. i give it a 6.369 out of 10.

8's the cutoff limit for weapon attachments on this particular device; I'm currently working on a more portable version which requires 6 more pieces, the base number for this is 15. 😅

huh, didn't know that. i never really experimented with putting a lot of things together. i usually just made basic forms of transport and after a while i got bored of making them over and over again so i just walked everywhere.
good luck on the new design.

Well, I'm done for now. Here's about half of the footage I have to show in total (thanks to disorganization and only just now learning Youtube has a daily upload limit, even if you delete videos before publishing ::badpc)

Let's kick things off with some of the new vehicle designs I've built:

The Flopper

The Mobile Grinder:

Stabby Mobile Grinder:

I promise to have more tomorrow, this is only a small fraction of the footage I obtained today.::kefka-48
