Zelda Megathread

It's surreal indeed but the fact one was a Club Nintendo and the other requires a peripheral may deter some.
Oh that might be right actually, at least for the US. I think it was available in stores in Europe, though probably in limited quantities.

On the Wii and Wii U you could basically play almost every Zelda games via the VC right?
Now that you mention it I think so? I don't know if the GBC games were available on Wii U though, I don't remember.

If the DS games were it's a good thing but since I haven't ever owned a Wii U I cannot be sure.

When a franchise has a lot of entries in various consoles it's hard to port everything.

I mean back in the 64 era unless you had a NES, a Gameboy and a SNES you couldn't play them all either.

I know at least Phantom Hourglass was available. I never tried them though as I was kind of done with my Wii U at that time, I think.

True, that's also kind of why it felt so cool to be able to play the entire library on Gamecube since ports felt a bit rarer then.

That's an official arrange?
Yeah! Hyrule Symphony. It was the first piece of music I ever downloaded, I get incredibly nostalgic when hearing it.

Cool. I should check other official arranges in the franchise.

It sounds more 90's but I like that one

On a side note the Smash Ultimate remix of Midna's Lament was arranged by the composer behind PSO and some Sonic games:

It's just funny to hear a PSO2-ified version of a Zelda theme.

PS: I also remembered that Yuzo Koshiro also has made an arrange for Brawl:

I've been bummed about my copy of Majora's Mask 3D being lost for several years, but today I learned that it had been mixed up when me and one of my former roommates moved away from each other! He only discovered it today because he was going through his 3DS games on a whim.
This is great because it means the game is safe and my save was apparently still intact.

Only problem is that he's moved 1200km away from where we lived, but at least I know it's still around!

I heard that MM3D wasn't a good port but then again OoT 3D kinda was.

😃wholesome!
Losing stuff always scares me
I heard a lot of stuff about the 3ds port but I’m only really familiar with the n64 so that’s probably gonna be my preferred for a while
I’ve no interest in getting or emulating 3ds so it’ll probably be a while before I’d try those although by that point, I’d likely be busy trying to sink my teeth into the romhacks or other Zeldas I’ve yet to finish

I think they both have good and bad changes. Nothing that stops me from enjoying them really, even though I probably prefer the originals!

I think that OoT3D is almost entirely a straight upgrade from the original, I'd say MM3D is the one that has a lot of more questionable changes or rollbacks from the USA version. Stuff like the Zora swimming and Deku spin speed being most immediately annoying to me.

I do think the bosses are overhated for MM3D, they're definitely different, but I think they're mostly better. But they are a pretty big change, I can't deny that.

I've never been disappointed with a mainline Zelda title up until Minish Cap, but what I really enjoy is 3-heart runs on the 64, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess.

I also have been looking at replaying Parallel Worlds again recently, but I may beat Conker's High Rule Tail before that. There are many new SNES and N64 Zelda hacks to try, but I already know I like Parallel Worlds.

I also wanted to beat Masked Quest (Majora's Mask hack) at some point, I had it on an older phone that stopped working before I'd had a chance to finish it (and several other games), and I recall Masked Quest being extremely challenging, fun, and requiring me to watch many Youtube videos to get through.

Honestly I have a backlog of over 30 Zelda hacks, lmfao.

For this reason, I highly recommend the Majora's Mask 3D Project Restoration Patch for those who miss the original's Deku spin speed and want a fast Zora swim speed without needing magic. The patch also restores the ice arrow's old, more free-form functionality. Fast transform using the D-Pad also is added. There's even more that I've neglected to mention, so do check it out if interested. It's one of my favorite mods out there, and I overall prefer it to vanilla MM3D.

I still think that the N64 versions had a better lighting and art style. The 3DS remake made them almost too bright and watered down elements.

The Japanese release didn't have these issue? What about the EUR version?

I still have hope that there will be a remake of Oracle of Agnes and Oracle of Seasons comes.

I don't really expect that since it's on the NSO and that they've made Echoes of Wisdom instead as the second game using Link's Awakening Remake's engine.

To be honest I would prefer to see an original top down Zelda game over a remake... Especially if we get to play as Link once again.

I don't really believe in it either but would be nice . Yes a new Zelda game would be great.

That would've made sense since the Oracle games shared the same engine as Link's Awakening DX. This would've been a nice nod.

I'm still glad Echoes of Wisdom exists as the first playable debut as a main character in the canonical franchise.

These are the toughest enemies for me in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
1 Miasma Hands and Phantom Ganon
2 Griocks
3 Griock-King
4 Moldora
5 Biwarok
6 Silberne Bossboks
7 Hinox and Stalhinox
8 Flux-Konstrukte
9 Gibdos
But my worst enemy is the lions they are incredible, I don't know how many times I lost against them. These are the lions!🙈

All the 3DS versions have these issues, when I mentioned USA version rollbacks, is because certain things like the Zora swimming work in the 3DS version are from the original N64 Japanese version. Zora Swimming is a rollback from the N64 USA version to how the N64 Japanese worked.

My favourites are Link's Awakening DX (loved the remake, too) and Wind Waker.
And Tingle is my spirit animal.

Oh my God! This guy is one of best characters in my opinion. Always happy and play song of storm without bring chaos to world.
His tool for playing music could be use in animations for music.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is rumored to be getting a remake for Nintendo Switch 2. This info might even be suggesting this Zelda remake could be even bigger than we thought perhaps going beyond the Zelda 40th anniversary in 2026. Let's talk about it.
Should Nintendo do this and now really then I go to a store the day after the release and buy the Nintendo Switch 2. I am an absolute fan of this Zelda part and I also have hope that Majora's Mask might get a real remake ! Nintendo do it !

will this remake change the story and events slightly? and also will the Poes be this version's whispers?

Also Wind Waker remake when lol? Instead they released Zelda BOTW remake in disguise of a sequel and called it Zelda TOTK lol.
